A beautiful buggy mess. Lots of fun, mostly thanks to the modding community. Base game keeps losing features with each patch as the devs admit they don't know how to make them work without bugs.
Game is worth it on sale for less than $20 USD, but as a full priced game over $45 you should look elsewhere for fun.

It's not 'The West Made Pokemon'
It's more 'The East made ARK'

It's 2002 again, I'm a young teenager, I don't know what micro transactions are and I've never felt the predatory touch of a greedy corporation trying to bilk me out of thousands of dollars for internet points and FoMo. I don't know what I'm doing but three guys on voice coms start yelling at me to get in a humvee, so I do, and then suddenly we're piling out into a street with explosions and gunfire. I'm dead and I don't even know what happened. 'I got you' I hear and suddenly I'm back on my feet. I see a red cap behind my savior. I light 'em up and I've got my first kill. 'Right side!' I'm screaming into my mic.
"You must opt in to voice chat" the game helpfully tells me.
I duck into a building and promptly eat lead again. But it's okay because my new three best friends have me up on my feet and we're running through weeds and ducking sniper fire. We stop behind a rock, they're pushing the point. I'm staring at key bindings desperately trying to figure things out. We all die while I'm in menus, but I found it! I push my push to talk. I say thank you. My friends are gone. I don't even know their names. I don't know how to find them again. A deep existential sense of ennui fills me as I look at the map and run off to go shoot at things. I've made other friends since. I'm having the time of my life. I forgot games could feel like this. I don't ever want to give it up again.

Thanks, battlebit.
For giving me back that feeling of being a nervous excited kid again.

Ubisoft turned off their support for the game. What you see is what you get.

No spoilers.
Finished in 12 hours, it's short but sweet.
The story is nothing you haven't seen before, but it is presented well. Each NPC has a decent amount of character or quirkiness to keep it interesting. The game is structured in set pieces that move the narrative along, there's not too much in the way of an open world, you can explore each area but over all they're fairly small and self contained without feeling claustrophobic. The ending was pretty easy to predict but it still managed to tug on my heart strings. No one thing was exceptionally great, (except being able to scratch and nap absolutely everywhere as is befitting a true cat) but everything as a whole was presented very well, and I really appreciate that. The neon lighting and blade-runner-esque feel in certain areas was spot on and really set the mood.
I am excited to see where this studio goes from here with a larger budget and another IP (or possibly a sequel but the story doesn't leave much room for more).

Updated:
Nothing has changed in almost three years. Itemization is crap. Gameplay loop is broken. Original bugs have never been addressed. Custom camera and posing is barely functional. Game is abandoned and no communication from any devs in any location.
Not worth your time, even for window shopping. Most of the game is default assets, models and clothing meshes are stolen from similar games (Think Illusion). Seems like no development actually happened.
Developers who don't develop aren't worth your support.

Original Review, 2021
Really trying to support small devs with pervy games, but the buggy save files and constant crashing, falling through floors, etc isn't worth the headache.
Refunding until this releases into a full game. Will carefully and cautiously check bug reports before buying again.

Buggy mess.
Lots of good ideas and a great concept with almost no follow through.
Game is basically in an early access state and abandonware by the developer.

Short for the price, but well made. Worth a buy on sale.
Scenarios leave something to be desired as there are clear right/wrong ways to build and no variables, resources are mostly static and each encounter is a simple pass/fail of if you've built your army right.
That said, there is a lot of fun in trial/error to clear a level, but not a lot of replay value after that.

I've played well over 1000 hours of this game to date and still I keep finding things to do, new builds to try, and most importantly, new mods to experiment with. The base game is good for several days worth of fun and just when you think you've mastered the basics, along comes the huge mod community to suck away your free time.
A must play for any puzzle/logic game enthusiast and a great way to pass a few thousand hours before you know it.

I bought this expecting to get future content as advertised.
I'm contacting steam with a complaint, and I suggest you do as well.
