Normally i never write reviews, but considering that i play this game since 2016 and quite actively for the most part... let's do this.

I will segment this review in 3 major parts . Going over the Pros , the Cons and the things that purely come down to preferences (things that some like but others dislike).
I hope i might help some people that think about getting this game and/or are about to put an intense amount of hours/money into it.

• An amazing Cast in both Surivors and Killers. You will find old slashing classics like Micheal Myers and original Killers like the hatchet throwing Huntress. There is something for everyone. Gameplay and estatic vise.
  
• The game has a semi competitive feeling to it, but it's still a party game. So both areas are covered in some ways, but i wouldn't recommend taking the game to seriously. It's far from balanced (will be covered later).
  
• It's amazing to play with friends. Especially the in game custom mode (Kill your Friends) where you can play with up to 4 Friends and just silly around.
  
• The general gameplay is quite simple and newby friendly, while you can put a good amount of hours in learning the deep mechanics of certain Killers etc.
  
• Quite unique gameplay design in general. There aren't many competitors our there, let alone good ones (promising ones do exist though).
  
• The graphics are okay. Not the best, but still better then a few years ago.
  
• Many different ways to play this game with all their different perks and Killers.

• Hacker/Cheater problem. I now that literally every online game has hacker and cheaters. But the frequency in this game is quite noticeable, especially after hitting a certain "skill".
  
• Performance issues for low to mid end PC's. The game is badly optimised, so low to mid range gaming PC's might run into lags or frame stutterings throughout.
  
• Toxic ingame community. You will be slurred in the after game chat for how you play, didn't play and many more things. It's so frequent that it battles the LoL community in that field.
  
• High price for the whole Game. The base Game is quite cheap, but if you want to play all Killers/Survivors you will need to buy the respective DLC. The amount of said DLCs is high and comes with a big price of course.
  
• Unfrequent balance patches. This game suffers from many balance issues. Listing them would increase this review way to much, so i will just say that (normally) only every 3-6 Months there are bigger patches that might contain balance topics. So if something is annoyingly strong you can guess it will stay for a long time.

• Big grind. This game has a perk system that requires an intense amount of grinding. So much so, that i (with 2600h) only have a certain amount of Survivors and Killers fully equiped with all perks. I personally like the grind, but it's not for everyone.
  
• Repetitive gameplay. There is only 1 game mode... personally i don't see it as a glaring issue, but this game never got an alternative one and as far as i know the DEVS don't plan on releasing one anytime soon.
  
• "Unfun" mechanics. There are certain mechanics in this game that many see as unfun to go against. Some examples being --> Killers camping Survivors and not letting them play the game; Survivors ending the games in 4 minutes and toxic ingame behaivour like tbagging etc. I put the unfun in quotes to do that being a subjective topic, but most people i know dislike these things, you just need to decide for yourself on that.

This is only a quick summary, not every point that some might see as important are covered in this review.


Soooo personally, i still love this game with all it's flaws and everything.
I would recommend it for those that are willing to sacrifies both time and money for the whole game and it's grind. You can and most likely will but an immense amount of hours into it after falling for it (those that play LoL and similiar games might know what i mean).
But you will need to able to deal with toxic players, bugs and balance issues.
There might be errors and mistakes in this review due to english not being my first language.
