This is easily one of my new favorite tactical games. Allows for a lot of customization, while still having it's own narrative to follow. Plus you can even tailor the games difficulties in many different ways, such as increasing/decreasing Quest Rewards/EXP/Hit rates/Enemy Max Health/etc etc. The game really just let's you play a tactical guild manager in the way you want all around. Highly recommend for those looking to fill a niche when looking for a strategy game.

Just keep going the live service route you're determined to go down, pretend like you care about this husk of a 'game', and make another skin or something for shills to nip at. Your pride and joy is a homonculus of good concept with disastrous decision making. No actual pride nor integrity, just a sun-par game getting worse as the years go by, and the developer pumping out sub-par payed content to get those pennies for his next lunch.

Could have made a new game at this point to put his bad decisions in. Nah though, gotta break things that already work.
Sitting on a throne that was once gold, but has rusted over the years.

PS: Got banned a few years ago because I dared to speedhack with CE. It's whatever. I only did it to see what would happen because the game is boring now, and laughed when I saw the ban screen. Didn't even bother trying to appeal against the ban, the game simply isn't worth it in it's current state. I do this to every game I view as at the end of it's life cycle, just to screw around. Hilarious to see the dev take the trashfire so seriously.

Why would monsters even show up knowing I was gonna be here today?

I got this game back in 2016, they were letting people add it to their game collection for free.
Just sort of let it sit in my library.
I got bored last night and looked through my library, remembered I'd played this game for about an hour with the full intent of coming back to it later that year. What's a few extra years?

The game is fun. I never really had much trouble figuring out what I needed to do. Except for one part, however, after about 30 minutes, I came to a realization and could have raged, but ended up laughing because i couldn't believe how long it took me to realize. The end bits were definitely my favorite, I think i may be alone in the opinion.

Watching the ending, I took some time to think. I don't think it's all that deep, but I like my conclusion. I'll keep it to myself as to not be the guy who spoils or taints anyone elses experience and/or perspective.

Definitely worth giving a shot. Kind of wish i could toss you $10 now for the good experience.

I'm editing my review, as "Highly recommended. A fun and creative experience" does not put my experience with this game to justice. I made that when I was 564 hours in, and I don't remember why it was so bland. As of this review, I'm about 2023 hours in, roughly triple/quadruple the previous, and for good reason.

A lot of people just starting out might say this game seems unfinished, or it's not very clear on what to do. Maybe it's too hard, or you die too quickly. Maybe the landscape is too bare-bones, or the way the engine works is too wonky.
I'm inclined to agree with you. First starting out, I was so confused on how to do anything. I might have given up right there. Then I found the workshop. The workshop easily makes this game totally worth the investment for anyone. I'm not going to say it's the main reason I play now, but it was definitely the reason I stayed back then. I stayed and tried everything from simple mods adding lore friendly weapons, to one of mopisgone's insanely well crafted mods adding anyone from Cloud Strife to Columbo (amazing modder btw, check him out, his tutorials taught me how to use blender and make my own mods.)

After awhile, I saw what the game became, a bulky huge world full of insanity mods, and I loved it.
However, I did wonder what the game would be like with less, and would start playing without them. Sure enough, through the insanity of this QoL mods, I learned how to play the damn game. It was still challenging sure, but now I knew how to deal. I knew how to increase stats, and how I should proceed with the dangers of the world. When to go for something, or when to accept that it was a lost cause.

You don't need mods to play this game, but they do help if you're having issues. Inventory management difficult? Umbra backpacks with a huge inventory, seemingly unlimited stacking, and no encumbrance.
Characters seem too bland? More dialogue mods for QoL.
Base building hitting a ceiling and you wish to build a mega city? Industry mods are out there, it gets insanely fun.
Wish there were some more races or factions to fit your playstyle? People are making their own custom races and factions all the time. Odds are you'll find something to fit your playstyle.

The game isnt easy, and it doesnt hold your hand. That's the world of Kenshi in a nutshell. However, the game does allow you to play however you want. That's the games appeal.

The only limit to your experience in this game is yourself. The reason i have over 2000 hours is because I always come back to this game for a new way to play. Starting as a slave used to be frustrating and impossible for me. Now? I can't play any other way. I love having to break free from my captors, going out in the world, just to come back a 100 days later to slay those who held me captive, and free those that still are. Some of those slaves even join my cause, and now we set out to build a better life, in our own town. Maybe we get raided by bandits and ninjas on occasion, and the Holy Nation stands by the gate demanding I attend their sermon, despite my encampment being ove run by Beak Things because I decided Vain was a good location to set up shop, and I also set the nest and squad multipliers to max because i'm insane and want a world full of mindless bloodshed.
That's my Kenshi experience though, and I revel in the way I play it.

Amazing Dungeon Crawling RPG.
The only real gripe I have is the damn hit-rates.
I'm all for missing mechanics, but sometimes I'm completely baffled and even feel cheated how much my characters miss, even when im not using Axes and the sort. Goes beyond the point of minor disappointment to borderline rage sometimes. Good for difficulty no doubt, might want to balance it a tad bit more though. It's almost there!

Regardless, I highly recommend. Maybe they'll patch generous accuracy at some point.
The grind is for levels, job points, and loot is satisfying for a RPG grind fest addict like myself~

I'm not a big fan of having my hand held, especially in a clicker game.
While i'm sure the tutorial was helpful for some, i'm sure i'm not the only one who felt a bit overwhelmed and annoyed with the intro.
Maybe an alright game otherwise, i wouldn't know with only 0.1 hours, but the first few minutes of a clicker game are crucial for grabbing your consumer's attention. I wasn't impressed, rather I was more annoyed if anything.

Dunno about the ones complaining about respawns, but i for one quite enjoyed that aspect.
My gripes are mainly how quick to boredom i get and how repetitive it gets in the long run.

Played the game for about a week straight when i got it, and it quickly lost its flavor. Mainly only played it after a while so i had something to do while watching the Youtube. Been over 6 months since i last played, and i can definitely say i have no inkling or desire to return to it at all in that time.

[JUNE 2022 Update]
Never played this game again after the original post. honestly don't remember a thing about it.
It might have been fun once? All i remember is the developer having a weird meltdown at one about people not liking their game. The game has apparently been abandoned now, and the developer moved on to make some other game.

Would not recommend. It was mediocre at best, and it's not even finished. There is no endgame. Save your money for another title.
