So much potential, annnnd then EVERYTHING is unlocked within a couple of hours on the FIRST level, and it's just sandbox for all the other levels.

No progression, nothing, just sandbox. Totally sucked the fun out of it once I realised how hollow it was.

EDIT: So I was enjoying the game enough I booted it up again, and sure enough, not long after you unlock "upgrades", you start to unlock some more meaningful story progressions and boosts which make retiring/ng+ faster paced and more enjoyable.

I do think it would be better, if the retirement formula was more clear, and if not so many of the story/progression achievements were hidden, because around the 15-20hr mark it starts to feel like it never gets any faster, when you're just around the corner from the game really improving.

I want to like it, and was immediately hooked, but after unlocking upgrades, and realising that literally nothing carries over after you retire except incremental and very small upgrades, which take just as long to reach due to how it's calculated (must exceed max level of current max level to begin gaining any bonuses) it was just too tedious to continue.

The fighting mechanics aren't that fun, certainly not enough to having to farm monstarium every single time I retire. Was really disappointed. The only upgrade I got in 20hrs that carried forwards, was lumber mills giving 3x bonus. Just feels a little lackluster. Not much incentive to level up when you don't feel any stronger than before, just slightly faster research. 1.3 mana per click to 1.7 mana per click. Ehhhh.

The hitboxes on the melee weapons can be a little awkward, but headshots have never felt so good! I love it!

I just wanted something casual, you can't even pause single player games, so frustrating

EDIT: The developer is very responsive, he helped me get logged in. I have to say I do think the initial login/tutorial could be streamlined a bit to avoid login issues, but this game looks awesome, so it was worth the extra 15 minutes to get it working.

NOTE: You CANNOT use the login button in the tutorial, unless you already have a character and synced up. This is not very obvious. You HAVE to finish the tutorial to login.

People aren't kidding, the login system is literally unusable. I can't get past the login screen. I get that you need to make money, but this sucks.

Difficuilt but incredibily addictive and fun. This is the best RTS I have played for years with a proper emphasis on single-player gameplay.
