Early Access Review
The previous version was better. They made the game worse. Paywalling stuff sucks; the lack of exit points in the maps now sucks too. The game feels less PvP-centric; there are fewer player encounters. Mobs are easier to kill. The game is overall less exciting.

I feel like I'm now suited to run for office for a feudal position.

I'll hit up my brit homies, see if they need any help managing their monarchy.

I bet King Charles will be hella impressed when he sees my Ironman save

I think that by now I should be able to handle a vassal or two irl. Maybe the Bahamas, Idk.

The original had a much better ambiance/atmosphere. Better cutscenes, better lighting, arguably better audio (if you're more into arcade rather than realism), and more voice lines for the characters. But I still prefer the remake.

Fall damage is horrible/sucks really bad.
Poise doesn't work (à la Dark Souls 3).
Some enemy attacks can go through walls.
Horse movement isn't as polished as it could be.

This game feels like Resident Evil 7 but heavily inspired by Resident Evil 4.
It's everything both games did right mixed in together, from gameplay to setting and atmosphere to weapons and progression.
I went in completely blind and did not expect the game to be so reminiscent of RE4.
I'm a big fan of the series and especially Resident Evil 4, my personal favorite, so of course I'm biased when I say that, to me this game is one of the best Resident Evil games I've played so far.

It's not worth the full price. The game is good but...

The game is a buggy mess.

The story has potential but the characters are lacking. The main character especially... So bland, they tried to make V a broad character that appeals to anyone and everyone who plays the game so the character ended up being the cliche charismatic witty "soft looking but tough when it needs to be" type of character, forgettable action movie star. Nothing special whatsoever, couldn't have made a more bland and cliche character even if they tried to. V has no soul, it's an empty husk for the player to fill and it shows, an extreme let down for those who like strongly written main characters like Geralt from the Witcher series.

Second point is, the game doesn't really feel all that much like a true triple A, the game feels like a weird mix between Sleeping Dogs, Watch Dogs and Deus Ex. It shines in no particular area, it's another open world shooter looter "craft and upgrade stuff" - "wow level up! such rpg! much progression mechanics" almost feels like an ironic doge meme.

The free roam feels super cheap. Doesn't have that GTA feel. Cars mechanics suck, traffic/driving AI sucks even more, NPCs have no physics, everything is so non-reactive, the world doesn't reply to your actions the way you'd expect after years of playing GTA, it doesn't have that well refined Rockstar touch. Feels more like another Ubisoft burger where they fill the world with volume of random things instead of actual quality.

Once again, about the characters, man they suck so much, apart from Jackie and Silverhand there's not a single likable and memorable character in this game, even V sucks so much, I wish I could just play as Silverhand, V's voice is such a cheap VA, tries to come off as a "tough guy" but is such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥ that makes me want to punch him, if he was a character in any other game with the same voice and attitude he'd be a side character that get's offed in a funny way in the first few hours of gameplay.

The dialog is a drag as well, most of the time I do not give a single ♥♥♥♥ about the side characters feelings that they try to force on you, and V just goes along like full on "cry on my shoulder" support mode, even the most direct pragmatic dialog options will have you chatting away about sentimental issues and unimportant details or instead he'll just play the ultra forced "tough kid" that is just cringey and doesn't play well. I miss Geralt's attitude so much, oh the good ol' classic "I don't give a ♥♥♥♥, just pay me" or the classic "Hmmph" response to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, now I'm stuck with this wimpy kid trying to act tough, any real tough goon would laugh at his intimidation attempts yet it somehow works in game. Pure fantasy action Hollywood movie character. Not my taste.

In summary, V is the soyboy hipster's manchild envisionment of a perfect "tough guy" and also the prime example of what teenagers think a tough guy should act like - the character's tough but still soft to the core, and so witty it's cringy to anyone past 20.

For real though, I regret buying the game at launch, I'm really disappointed. Should've bought Red Dead instead. Worst main character I've played since... Hell, I don't know.... It's that bad, I can't even remember a worse one.

I cannot recommend this game for $60 bucks (R$ 129,99). It's worth about less than half that price.

This is an action game with a survival/horror theme to it. But no actual horror or survival involved.
It's an action DLC for Resident Evil 2 Remake sold separately as it's own game.

Since the game is so short I finished it about 3 times. Beat it Inferno (highest difficulty) too. I can safely say that the game is just "meh", I'm not going to say it's trash but it's nothing special either..
Compared to the original there is less immersion and atmosphere. This an action movie version of an horror/survival game, and it's short like a movie too, so short in fact, you might finish the game under 4 hours on your first playthrough depending on how you play and the difficulty you're playing at.
On my playthroughs I made sure I had picked up every item and explored every area. Backtracked a lot and lingered around a lot. Even then, my first two playthroughs came at around 5 hours total. That's super short for an expensive triple A game.

In comparison to Jill in RE1 the new Jill was completely butchered as a character, I had basically no connection to her other than feeling she's the 21st Hollywood empowering female character "Oh she's a badass womyn that don't need no man, you go girl!". She's just bland. And uglier too.

The worst aspect of this game are the scripted sequences, you only gain real control of the character about like 15~20 minutes into the game and before that you're basically forced to follow scripted sequences and "playable" cutscenes.

The last boss...
There's no last boss, the last enemy in the game is just a RNG sequence based on pure luck and this is not even me crying about it because it's hard, it's literally just luck-based on difficulties nightmare and above, there's not attack pattern, there's no correct timing, there's just... Luck. Don't believe me? Watch speedrunners trying to get past it, they all complain about how random it is. It's by far the worst "boss" (it's not a boss, it's a slot machine) on all Resident Evil games.

**Stuff I didn't like**

The pathfinding is bad. Characters often take roundabout routes and get stuck in terrain.

The UI/UX is painful yet manageable. The automatic sorting system on your inventory doesn't really work all that well and you end up having to sort it by hand in the end.

Now these are just some minor nitpickings that I have with the game.

**Stuff I did like**

This game has loads of content for anyone concerned with longevity, I'm 150 hours in and I finally feel like I'm getting somewhere along the lines of endgame DURING MY FIRST PLAYTHROUGH. I'm perhaps no where near fully experiencing everything the game has to offer since it has other modes of "new game".

The progression system is addictive, you really feel the evolution of characters firsthand and it's enjoyable to experience.

The crafting system although convoluted at times, is also quite nice.

Great game. 9.5/10 would recommend to anyone for sure.

Great consise gameplay, it's really consistent and predictable. Gameplay-wise this game is just shy of being perfect.

It's a really repetitive game, just like CSGO it's always more of the same, same weapons, same maps, same ol' same ol'.

The weapons and armors are historically accurate and really customizable, you will NEVER find two people wearing the same armor/outfit in-game unless they're using the default classes or trying to match their looks. Just like weapon skins in CSGO customization is a way to "break" or take your mind away from the repetitiveness of the game.

It's a really good game. If you're into complex competitive repetitive gameplay with tons of customization this is the game for you.
