[Changed my review because Nordic now has a service to get this one for free if you own the game + season pass. I already threw my money at them just to write a review and then forgot to refund. Oh well, worse thing have happened for €6]

Good fun game, and it recognizes a XOne Controller which made me happy.

Updating this review because a year later the game is pretty much the same. My 970 could handle it well, so no more jet fighter sounds, but after playing about 5 minutes I already encountered some bugs and was stuck in geometry. I could still walk through the first box on the ship, open a drawer inside a house from the outside (or was it magic?) and like I said got stuck somewhere in geometry. On the positive side, I could walk almost everywhere like in Morrowind or Skyrim so lots of freedom. Which is a bit strange for such a game. Still not enough to get me playing.

I could write a negative review after playing a bit but why not a positive review?

First of all, it looks great. Not so much post-processed as others it really uses textures and bitmaps as designed, so everything is very detailled and clear. The world is almost seamless, just entering a dungeon requires some load but that's fast. It plays like an old action rpg like titan quest or sacred in the sense that you walk around with a top-down view. Controlling your char with mouse and keyboard is ok. You mis-click once in a while, especially on the starting ship but that ok once you get used to it.

Fighting is done by clicking right, which is fairly common. Your character swings nicely. I must say, the enemies are nicely detailed, reminding me of a upped version of Neverwinter Nights (2). And always funny when a fox fights alongside a giant spider :) I guess in real life they would not eat each other ;-)

Of course this all come with a cost, which is that your PC will sound like a jet fighter. Never ever has a game beaten my system so badly. So kodos to the devs which really pull everything out of my system they can. My fans are blowing (didn't know I had them) and even my hdd began to read\write like a madman. Probably a swapfile or something but I guess when you have a ssd you wouldn't notice. Anyway, the game run without stuttering which is of course great. In that respece the game feels a bit like the 'old' game which also taxed your hardware. Of course you can tweak the display stuff so it's not that of a burden but perhaps it's a good indication that you need new hardware. I have a 770GTX but in a few days my new 970GTX arrives and I will give it another swing. Perhaps it will help, i'll report back.

All in all it could be a fun game with lots of text (some a bit cheesy, especially the speech) but i need to play it more. But let's not be a whiner and start positive!

Oh, only noticed one bug: I could walk into a crate (so the create and my puppet were 1) and was then lifted and was on top of the create. Could be a nice trick to get to a higher ground, but I guess this was unintentionally. The next time I could not walk into a crate.

Just great software if you have multiple monitors. Have been using it for years and still runs fine. Interface is a bit outdated right now but you can also say it has been consistent throughout the years so no surprises. And that's it.

If you are looking for a new System Shock, look further. This is not it.

Boring and dull, lots of nearly empty rooms, etc. A female voice warns you all the time, like SHODAN, but it doesn't frighten you. I had to laugh, then cry. The enemies look like they've come straight from Minecraft. The music is OK.

Just pass this one on your way to a better game.

Also, the hacking mechanism is not for the color blinded. I am and had to increase the brightness of my monitor to see the difference between the red and green balls. Bad designed.

Walk, walk, walk, walk, jump, walk, walk, walk, walk, walk, boat, done.

Also: pretty pictures, frog, crocodile, roach, water, dust, sun, tower, train and lots of trees.

I walked 22 minutes but took some shortcuts in the end.

If you gonna walk, walk away and walk another game.

Who the hell needs the Hulk if we have Pier? Only thing is that he lives around 1500 and is not green.
In that time he was legendary for kicking some asses in Friesland so why not build a game around him? This is it!

Short game, decent graphics, great style, lineair play, Diablo-esque, barrel-bashing!, walking, reading, windmill and definitely Dutch!

Not the greatest of games, but definitely enjoyable.

Good game where Max saves a dog:

He first carefully carries the dog to a buggy, puts the dog in the back and steps behind the wheel.
Then you drive from A to B. The dog survives.
It's a miracle.
Max is a god.

Do you dare start the game? I don't. One of the few I don't want to start to spoil the premise.

And if you do start the game, don't complain please. Just play what you got.

This one is interesting. It is presented as a clicker game in the vein of Clicker Heroes and such, and definitely aims towards the same audience. However, the execution of this is a sad milestone: In a very bad designed interface \ GUI you have to shoot (?) blocks to get to the next level. How about a lack of inspiration to create a nice setting? Blocks. And shooting them? With a team of sniper specialists? In Minecraft you have at least your fists or a pick, but a gun? And color-changing blocks are not that appealing. They are just boring. It definitely feels like somebody without the necessary graphic design skills quickly put a game together to ride the successful Clicker Heroes wave.

They also decided that more is better and fill it up with all kinds of upgrades and achievement stuff.

If you want to grind away your time, just stay away from this one. Much more visually appealing stuff (adventure capitalist, tap heroes, clicker heroes) is around which offer a better experience. Avoid.
