I'm not crying, you're crying.

I am surprised I never wrote a review for this game. It was really fun. Not super complex or involved, but a fun story that provided some good challenges.

Well what can I say ... I've been waiting over 12 years for this game and I love it. It's a thing of absolute beauty.

I have a few caveats. I had to turn off a lot of the HUD in order to recapture the original feel of S.T.A.L.K.E.R., but it was easy enough. The originals had the same feature, so it felt right at home.

The boodsucker was a bit overpowered as compared to the old ones. Maybe I've just lost my edge in the intervening years. But after a few attempts, it was toast.

The real reason I loved the original games was always the exploration aspect, and that seems perfectly intact. I am happy it finally came out, and it feels like it was worth the wait.

Wow, I can't believe I never reviewed this... the game that got it all started (it terms of me learning about Steam and all that).

Excellent game. Virtually flawless. I can't think of a game that was better, although I have some personal preferences that I enjoyed just as much or more. But in terms of objective quality, this may be one of the best games ever.

If you enjoy a short, fun, horror experience this is great!

After playing just a few minutes I already love it. I loved the first one, and this is just a perfect sequel so far. Intriguing new mechanics, with a familiar interface and gameplay.

It seems really easy and simple at first, but the game is actually quite challenging, in the best way. If you die, it is always clear why it happened and it is a teaching moment, I love this about it.

It is really good, creepy, atmospheric and engaging game music.

The music was one of the first things that drew me into the game itself, so I was very excited to get the soundtrack when it became available.

I should note to potential players that the primary gameplay loop seems to be quite short. It encourages replayability over having a single, longer experience, much like a rogue-like. There is perma-death, and starting from scratch. You have a limited time to complete your mission, so you are not able to explore the whole game in a single session. But the game, by contrast, encourages exploration and discovery. So in order to do this, you need to re-play re-punk ... get it?

I love the environment and overall atmosphere of the game. It really puts you into an alien world, with lots to discover, but with the added tension of having limited resources and time. I want to see what happens if I don't follow my orders 100% next time...
