After a few years of being gone I missed this game but had no one to sail with and open crews are not for me, Some Friends recently got into this and I came back too.

Still the good old Sea of Thieves I remember but with more to do! Always room in my heart to sail again this game just has that charm to it.

Edit: A year on from this they all dropped off and I'm a solo slooper again, still now I'm more confident and experienced I am ready to take on all challenges!

Nuffle Bless you.

Nuffle Screws you.

Blood Bowl III.

Seriously though this is a pretty standard adaptation of Blood Bowl and is good fun growing a team seeing them win, get battered and even die, losing a player you've become attached to, which you will if you like winning, can be just as heart wrenching as in XCOM and games of that ilk.

The A.I is awful though so online is where you'll see a true challenge, that said if online play is not your thing then I'd hold off on this one.

The online though is pretty good IF you can find another player who doesn't quit out of the game the second you get advantage. It can feel a bit one sided if that happens too often. Especially if you stick out your losses and don't quit yourself. I personally love the game, but I won't say I've felt cheated by not being allowed to win by my opponent quitting out as soon as I get a slight chance to score for a few games, then been beaten out hard in other matches after this has happened. This can be really off putting.

Still i love the board game feel and art style, team management and learning to improve is my bread and butter, great game to keep you thinking.

MK1, This game rekindled my love of fighting games and I love it for that.

The gameplay feels about as good as MK11 which was really enjoyable.

The Kameo system is a great addition in my opinion, a system that makes for some new innovations when facing fighters. It's not as simple as learning their move sets and other players will always surprise you with something you've never seen before that consistent new tech, new combos it can refresh a meta and that's good for a game's lifespan.

However NetherRealm being NetherRealm it's not perfect.

Adding in Invasions mode for single player is a nice touch MK as an RPG? I'm all in favour! If it were like MK Deception and Konquest mode, but annoyingly it's made a challenge only by super armour cheese and messing with the game as a whole in terms of frame timing, rather than making it an actual challenge of skill.
The hardest it gets is Test Your Might. That is not very fun. It would be much better if it rewarded the stuff that makes a difference in an actual match not relying on gimmicks. Now the elemental twist is nice but after a while stops being relevant

One mark off for the jittery PC cutscenes in story, that's pretty annoying AND exclusive to PC! (I'm on ultra settings on a high end PC with a 3080ti so I don't want to hear the 'inferior hardware' argument.)
One mark off for Invasions requiring very little skill and relying on cheese albeit in typical MK fashion.
One mark off for Micro-transactions, seriously. I get your game is a business but still, these things don't need to be omnipresent. What's wrong with DLC costumes over buying an in game virtual currency to buy them anyway?

Vermintide in 40K? In terms of how the game works yeah maybe, that being said......

This game is a truly immersive experience into the world of Warhammer 40000.

Welcome to Tertium a hive world in the 40K Imperium. Where in the forgotten darkness of the subterranean sprawl, death, disease and chaos lurk around every corner and are waiting to tear you apart for a nice fresh meal of unprocessed corpse starch.

The game itself is a solid 8/10.

Movement feels fluid and gives you options, running and gunning or sliding from cover to cover just feels gripping, especially in the heat of the moment. Suppression plays into this making tactical movement and team positioning key interlinked parts as a result.

Enemy movements seem like they are quite a nice mix of tactical and brutish depending on who and what you face. When you get rushed by a group, you feel pressured and even small, as you are pushed on the defensive........ or beaten into the ground.

The combat just feels real, from weighty melee to the suppression mechanics, you're no superhero, you're in the thick of it!

Combat feels great. Melee feels weighty and swings have impact. This is very nicely reinforced by area hit detection, the hits respond well to where you hit making impacts and shots feel impactful and decisive. Being able to Shove and Counter in melee as well adds some extra depth to the melee combat giving a more risk versus reward feel than, hack and slash with no care in the world.

On top of that blocking and dodging are kept really simple. But the animations team have nailed both feeling exactly as they should. Blocking feels like you are taking the hit and resisting the impact, not shrugging it off like it was a gentle caress. Dodging feels a bit risky as if misreading it will really knock you off balance but the reward for pulling it off will be worth it.

Gunplay feels good, weapons look smooth, recoil feels like it has kick but not too much. Because of suppression being a mechanic, you can't just be a laser pointer perfect shot when you get shot at, it adds emotion to the character and adds that element of fear to them without making it massively apparent to you.

The default controls are weird though, with aim acceleration being the default aim mode and hold to crouch and sprint, guess it's geared for M&K more than a controller. Once you change that though it'll be smooth as silk.

It's Fun with a posse and there's a fair bit to do, however with this game being given up on by the company behind it I cannot say I would buy it anymore.

I'd play it sure, I wouldn't pay for it now though.

Campaign aside, the multiplayer is straight up garbage. The Battle Pass and it's challenge system give out crap challenges that force you to change the way you are playing and that just caps it off a big NOPE to having fun. the fact that challenge swaps are such a big part of the microtransactions make this feel that much more intentional. That aside the game feels great but as said the BP kills your fun OR your progression. You may choose only one. That does not feel good or respect your time.

I have now played for a decent amount of time and can confirm my hatred of this games fundamental build from the ground up it feels like a free to play, that is to say built around microtransactions and is designed to financially suck you dry.

"Oh what's that? oh you have a challenge to play a certain mode. Ok we'll do our best to put you in not that mode, Have a nice day" since you can't queue for specific modes other than FFA and TDM these seem really tedious and luck based and it's playing a match of a certain game mode!

And if you don't like it then you can pay money to change it.

This game, it's so addictive. Much like Rocket League you get that "Just one more" going and boom 2 hours are gone
