My friend and i are pretty much the only players on this game most days, but it's always a damn good game to end the night on.
I'm better at chess and he's better at fighting games, there's a lot of fun in bridging that gap
I B-line for his king and he wipes my pieces one by one but i'll be damned if it isn't a hell of a lot of fun!
the score is 21-14 in his favor, but i'm getting there

only downside i would say is that a lot of the moves are almost somewhat hidden ? i could swear we've both used guard breaks a handful of times and we still don't know how to trigger them, AND YOU CAN DOUBLE JUMP? some of these things should probably be listed in a move set.

Look, I own a LOT of rogue-likes, I guess you could call me a fan.
I've always appreciated the details in games and I can at the very least say this... The details in this game are AMAZING.
I mean the animations are all wonky and wacky and are insanely entertaining, from a weapon reloading itself to a screaming sword holding guns shooting swords ?
It definitely holds true to some of the best rogue-likes out there like nuclear throne and enter the Gungeon with a little dash of crack cocaine introduced in there for *dramatic effect*
it's chaotic, with a lot of content, it's fun and most of the time hilarious, you'll undoubtedly get used to the little shenanigans after some time but with 12.2 hours played within 24 hours, I'm not even close and i'm always pleasantly surprised, that's enough to warrant the price of this game. Support these amazing devs for bringing us quality games.

Friendly community helped me learn how to not be scared ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ -> lack of fear got me killed every round

I've always played dumb silly games, indie games, the most random selections and when it comes to duel games like stickfight, rounds is by FAR my favorite.
Fluid movements, fluid controls, amazing mechanics with some combos that get really wacky and fun !
The graphics in the game are so much better than you'd expect with a giant bullet distorting half the map, and the mechanics sending every object within the explosion's vicinity flying at the speed of light only for them to hit someone and shoot them towards their doom on the edge of the map.
Big + from me, one of the best games in my entire library.

Best game ever made, if it wasn't for waiting on more updates, i would never play anything else

Let me start this off by saying, Risk of Rain 1 had me, i mean from the music, to the pixel art, the enemies, the gameplay, all the different abilities, and my god all the secrets and unlocking, never felt like a chore, every single playthrough was just more fun than the last, and every session ending in a sudden brutal death was just a challenge for the next to be harder, but to make it through. Thinking back, that was it, the peak indie game, the game i thought through whenever i wanted to get a friend to co-op.
Transitioning to my friend spamming me with news of the official trailer for risk of rain 2, and it's in 3d..
big ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ oof, how the hell are they going to do that, and maintain that charm the game had, we talk about it for hours, i hope, i HOPE, it's going to be as good.
And here i was, on release, the very first game i ever was excited about anticipating and waiting for patiently, when that day finally came, i don't think i came off the game for a straight 12 hours
that transition could not have been smoother, seeing all the enemies, characters, and items i knew and loved, reminiscent of all those past hours, with the excitement for newer content, the game did NOT disappoint.
Everything having been changed, yet remaining the same, the nostalgia, yet memories were not what made this game great, Hopoo is.
If you see this, don't even think twice. buy the title, and say goodbye to your life.

Once getting the hang of it is no longer the issue, direct your rage at other players, a brigade of bugs, occasional ♥♥♥♥ you's to the face from unknown sources, and the fact that this game still hasn't implemented a reconnect option 2 years from launch.. are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ serious ?? is what one would be thinking, but don't let that distract you from the fun this game will bring you all the way up to the point where you alt+f4 and no longer want to keep going, many laughs, 7/10
