A short but fantastic venture to all that made action games great during the PS3 and XBOX 360 era. The story is easy to digest, the soundtrack does not offend and the combat is pretty much a faster God Of War.

Looking forward to a sequel!

What a game man.

A world that is so dire that it does not even need collectibles to force you to explore as you will happily scavenge every inch of it in hopes of just one more bullet. Combat encounters that do not feel like victories because that health kit or ammunition you spent could have kept you alive to see tomorrow.

Most of all the best written character duo in videogame history with Joel and Ellie. The relationship feels so organic throughout the game and what happens in cutscenes is persistent in the gameplay. No more fighting in a cutscene and all rosy after.

If this game teaches you anything about its world then it's the fact that no matter what you do, there is no happy ending for people like us.

Bravo!

They have not only fixed the excessive crashing, they have released a massive patch that brings the game up to the standard it should have been at. I can finally recommend this game to everyone who is a fan of the HP universe!

They did the impossible and not only remade a perfect game but also improved on some aspects of it!

It's one of those that leave you clapping, then sobbing and then empty after you finish it. From start to finish an absolute masterclass in story telling and visuals.

A fantastic odyssey and the best world Ubisoft has ever built. The game does so much right that even the usual "Ubi-grindfest" gameplay loop is fun to do and the icing on the story telling came through the Lost Tales of Greece DLC.

I hope they will revisit ancient Greece in a future instalment of the series as I can hardly imagine a more interesting period of time to set your open world game in.

Make sure to play the game using DXVK for a free FPS boost (from dodgy 50s to high 80s in my case)

An absolutely fantastic game with a AAA story that can hang with the big ones for sure.

It is what I wanted it to be. A fun story, that is surprisingly long, and plenty of loot.

I am not a fan of the lack of gun variety though spells do make up for it to some extend and the random dungeon encounters do not feel that great to play but I'd still recommend checking this game out if you are a fan of the franchise.

still better than BL3 btw

My first voyage in a From title and I am in awe of the journey Elden Ring was. Granted, I could have explored a lot more since I have seen people with 200+ hours who still have not finished the game but I was too gripped by the story and the world to tread far off path by the end (this game warrants a second play through anyway).

If you like From games already, then you'll already have played Elden Ring or are just waiting on that new PC or console to play it for sure and won't need to be reading a review anyway. If you are like me, new to From games and daunted by the aspect of difficulty, which is why I never played Dark Souls, trust me when I tell you to give this game a fair shot and stick with it.

The open world nature of this game allows you to approach fights, especially bosses, at your own leisure and level of choice so you can either give into the challenge or just level a bit more and have a hard but considerably shorter boss fight and thus less time you need to maintain your dodging for. I can promise you that you will be able to beat and fall in love with this game even if you are a first timer to souls games and generally not a good gamer so please do not miss this gem and play Elden Ring!

probably GOTY btw 8)
