Just go replay Dying Light 1 instead.

*Edit as response to dev*

For context I have played the original Dying Light and completed it twice, 100% once, as well as the expansion, on console. It should be said that I played both the original and the sequel with one other friend, so it was coop but not full party.
So, things I liked about the game… it’s still Dying Light, so parkour over the head of undead, which is probably one of my favorite genres of zombie games. That being said, there is a lot of things that needs to be fixed or reworked, so me and the friend I referred to earlier have compiled a list of complaints, some minor others not so much. I will avoid talking about bugs as many of the ones we encountered has already been reported.
First and this one is a big one from my side, the parkour flow seemed flawed for example, around the rooftops you find barriers that you can slide under or vault through a small hole, but these animations doesn’t seem to be affected by your momentum, so you can run full speed and as soon as you enter the slide animation, all the speed that you had gained was gone. So, playing enough you quickly realized its faster to just run around the barrier to avoid unnecessary animations.
The fact that skills like the slide is an ability that you must unlock and is supposed to make movement smoother makes this an annoyance.
Another of these annoyances is the fact that zombies can just spawn from hatches and vents on the roof, I always thought that the point of parkour in the Dying Light was that it was the one place you were safe, at least during the day, which leads me to the next flaw.
In the first Dying Light night was terrifying, as soon as the sun went down it became a sprint for a safezone, you knew that volatiles would soon be out and that would chase you the the end of the earth. In the sequel night is more of a bother than something you fear, the only time you see volatiles seems the be inside buildings and rarely if ever outside. Going outside during the night to get inside specific locations felt more like a chore after the third or fourth vaccine center as they all seem to be the exact same design.
Speaking of chores, this game has a lot of them, there are way too many side quests which most of these were very repetitive, a couple of the side quest were interesting but often because they were someway related to the main character and not for the gameplay.
Most side quests can best be described as go out to location to find person who is missing, arrive a location, kill zombie, find item/corpse/radio signal which leads you to another location, here you kill more zombies and find person which has some kind of weak plot twist which forces the player to make vague choice which has not effect on the game other than rewards for the quest changes slightly.
I personally think that it would be better with fewer but more fleshed outside quests, maybe make some into quest lines so it feels less like fetch quests.
Oh and also add some more ropes to swing from, for other players during time trials to avoid one of us falling to our death because the other one grabbed the rope first.

Other than side quests there is also structures to be climbed, and there is a lot, windmills, radio towers, water towers, power stations, bandit camps and so on. Here I will fully admit that many of these were quite fun as they required more brainpower than most of the rest of the game, power stations with wires having a limited length forcing you to think creatively, or radio towers with moving parts far above the cities.
But then there are the bandit camps which mostly just consisted of killing the same weak enemies and ending it with a generic strong guy. If I had to change the bandit camps, I would give each of the bosses some personality and have their base reflect that, you already have a common enemy that spews fire, make a bit guy who does the same and have his arena filled with fire forcing you to stay off the ground.
The same goes for metros, at first, I was excited “Oh this is where the horror part of the game was hiding” but like the bandit camps it was just some easy enemies or a messy parkour track with no clear path or intent.

My last complaint is the final boss, so spoiler warning.

What in the world, who decided it was a good idea to give a boss 4 boss phases where 3 of them are the same with minor changes to the environment. On top of that giving him a health bar like a souls-like boss, while we were not max level, we had still equipped us selves with pretty good gear and absolute stomped all other enemies leading up the big baddy, and we still spent 20 minutes just beating the crap out of him, while of cause jumping back every 5 seconds to avoid his repetitive attack patten.
Also, the final cutscene was so buggy that watch each other’s streams as the first scene happed behind my character and I couldn’t control the camera and my friend had to run after where our player model was supposed to be, so Mia was just floating in the air towards the door. After Mia went through the door my friend did not get teleported to the next scene, so instead they had to look at my stream to not miss out.

Waste of time, feels repetitive and unintuitive.
Will give you a couple of hours of entertainment, if you play with friends, just don't expect them to appear in cutscenes.

Looks decent, has a few major problems like crashes and other errors (a bit of internet browsing can help).
The story is pretty good, and the atmosphere is amazing.
It's good follow up to the 2033 and Last Light.

Early Access Review
Spent like 90% of the game hiding on a hill
saw a guy going into a building
waited for him to get outside
shot him
missed
got shot
died

*New game
Found a ghillie suit
a sniper and a silencer
won the entire game by killing the only guy left who had killed everybody else

Rather be a coward and alive than a dead brave man
