Once upon a time Windows didn't let you have a taskbar on all monitors of a multi-monitor setup. I did not like this, and found DisplayFusion on sale. It solved my problem. It was really that simple. Years have passed. Now I'm running Windows 11. I did replace that silly new start menu with something better, and I don't actually NEED DisplayFusion anymore, but I've found a few other neat tricks it does. It does a LOT of neat tricks, far beyond what I use it for. Today, though, I thought to myself, "I sure would like to take those side-monitor taskbars and put them on the side closest to my center monitor, but keep my center monitor taskbar on the bottom where it belongs. I go into the settings, only to find text saying something along the lines of, "Want to change an individual taskbar? Right click it." I did. Now I am so happy I could cry.

My needs for this software are simple, but every time they become even the slightest bit more complex, I discover that DisplayFusion has already anticipated that need. I am not used to that from a software publisher.

I've been playing the C&C franchise since Dune II, and my favorite sweet spot in the whole series was Red Alert. This game has its own version of my favorite feature in that game. I'm a skirmish-mode junkie. Almost daily, I'll play a 6-way skirmish in easy mode, just to clear my mind. It's like doing a crossword, or watching a short episode of your favorite show. Occasionally I'll play through the campaign, or up the skill level, but usually I'm having a quick, fun game a little differently than I did last time. Right now I'm at 733 hours, and almost all of that has been in 15-30 minute sessions, so I really do keep coming back. Yeah, I like the game.

I love this series, and it keeps getting better. If you love train games, this is a fantastic one to play. You have many options in how to play, from campaign mode to free-building sandbox. The only change from the previous game I don't enjoy is the change to city demand. I wish they demanded more resources. In the previous game, cities were basically resource sinks, but now they can only take two pre-determined resources. It makes the early game much harder, so I wish there was... more. That aside, it performs better, feels better, builds better, and loads faster. Once you've got it running nicely, click on that train and take a ride along. I'm happy I have this game.

This is everything I tend to not like in a game. Platformer-style action, battle-royale elimination, and so freaking cute. None of those really appeal to me, in theory. I played one round, and lost it, in Fall Guys and I was HOOKED! The games are challenging. The gameplay is fairly intuitive and enjoyable. The challenge of trying to qualify for the next round is addictive. I just kept playing, losing, and laughing the whole time. This game is going to get a lot of play on my stream. I love it!

Need a game to destroy your life? This is a good choice. I started with a quick "follow the tutorial" game, then restarted to take what I'd learned and do it better. Then I decided I'd done everything wrong, and I restarted again. The third time, I reached a pretty nice position before realizing I'd done it wrong, and would have to tear it down and start over. Instead, I started game four. I've spent days of real-life gameplay building up, exploring, and working toward nuclear energy. Yes, almost everything I've built in this game will be torn down for a better plan, but it doesn't matter. I'm totally hooked.
This freaking game is so addictive. I'm at 412 hours already, and I can see a few hundred more in my future. If you like building/management/manufacturing games, this is an EXCELLENT choice.

I totally dig this game. I love building and management games. This is such a fun game in that genre. Each level starts slow, but ramps up in speed just a little faster than you can handle. Each city hospital brings its own challenges, meaning you can't just keep following the same routines. You have to start small, grow larger, tear down bits and build them elsewhere, and expand your hospital to keep up with the growing demands. It keeps you on your toes. I really need to get the DLC, so I can get the new challenges. Keep that training classroom busy, because you're going to need staff with the skills to keep it all working.

Below is my original review. CRYOFALL NOW HAS SINGLE-PLAYER! As a result, I have changed my review to positive. All I wanted was single-player availability. Now it has it, so my complaints are no longer valid. YAY!

I really want to like this game. In general, I do like this kind of game. Gather, build, craft, the whole thing. It's a lot of fun. This game eases you in, if you can figure out how it's doing it. There's a mission system, which you discover by clicking around, which helps you if you realize it exists. Now that you've found it, you can claim yourself some land. You'll need to clear some space, and make sure it isn't too close to anyone else's land, because there's no single-player. There's no pausing, and those berries you picked have now rotted, because there's no single-player. Since there's no single-player, the things you build on your new plot of land have a decay rate, in case you abandon the game. You will abandon the game, because there's no single-player and you have better things to do than keep checking back to make sure everything you've worked for hasn't disappeared. You realize there's no way you're going to commit yourself to this, so it is a waste of time to keep playing. You're glad you got it from Humble Monthly, so the cost of learning that this game is a waste of time is low.

How to fix it? Single-player mode, at least as an option.

I'd love to love this game. It looks great. Unfortunately it throws you directly into a race, but doesn't give you ANY information about the controls before it does so. I've got an old Thrustmaster wheel I've tried to attach, but it requires you to already know what you're doing in order to set it up. The throttle is all-or-nothing. Using a controller, the controls make no freaking sense. Once I finally figure out which button to push for the throttle, I then slam into the wall because I still don't know where the brakes are. I end up so freaking pissed off I don't want to continue. If there was ANY help for the new player (I mean, it throws you into the race BECAUSE you're new, but doesn't help you know what keys or buttons to press) I might enjoy it. As it is, It makes me angry before I can get into the meat of the game. As a new player, the developers gave me a real big "screw you."

It's a little dated. It has no windowed-fullscreen mode. It doesn't matter. This is a game you can spend hundreds of hours playing, realize you could have done things better, and then start a new game to play for hundreds of hours yet again. You've got spaceflight, exploration, trading, construction of your own stations, development of fleets of ships for extensive trading, or to take into combat in enemy sectors. Where you take the game is up to you. Even though more advanced versions of this game have been released, this is still the one I keep coming back to. Love this game.

I love the X-series of games. There's a lot to like about X4. I like how it handles flight. Combat is well-done. building your own stations is much better than in the X3 series. All-in-all, it's fun for someone like me that enjoys settling into a long-form game. This is the kind of game you can play as if it is your full-time job for a week, and you're just getting started. A single game can go on for hundreds of hours, and it will continually keep you on your toes.

(Old Bad Review Paragraph) Unfortunately the game has serious memory leaks. Depending on a few factors, it can balloon in size to take up all your memory in about two hours of regular play, or 30 minutes if you're using SETA for time-compression. If they ever get that fixed, I'd love to spend some real time playing. Until then, I'll continue wishing I could give this game the attention it needs to really enjoy.

New Information: After a long break, I gave the game another try. I heavily modded in order to build a huge fleet as fast as possible, and it appears the memory leaks have gone. I can now run the game continually for days without issue. Finally, this is the game I've wanted to play.
