this platform used to be a huge timesink for me- i've gone to several Furality conventions held entirely within VRC, and I've spent countless hours just dancing and vibin with so many people, a lot of which i keep up with outside of the platform!

don't get me wrong, I used to love VRC - then they decided to add anticheat to a social experience, and as a result i'm leaving this review

The gameplay is the most I've ever had with an FPS title in years!

The progression and over-monetization led me to uninstall the game.

I love this game, but...I can't give it a positive review.

The core gameplay loop is the best I've ever seen in a racing game- you're *constantly* rewarded for just existing basically in the game's open world. It's so fun and so satisfying to rack up combos while driving around- really gives me that Pro Skater vibe to it all.

The adjustable difficulty is really good too, especially the wording- at the end of the day, it's all just a bonus! that's really good and rewarding! more devs should take this approach to game difficulty.

However- a big draw to this game was the online experience- whether it's just driving around with friends, or doing events and seasons together!

This is where the game falls short for me.

From just trying *five separate times* to do an Autumn season event, or just getting randomly disconnected while in the open world- the online is just kinda awful.
Not to mention some of the seasonal challenges either not working properly or *having someone just clip through a wall during a Playground Games event, which caused my entire team to just quit out.* Screw you.

Again, this is one of my most favourite racing games of all time- but it's because I love the core game so much that I have issues with the rest of it, and that drags the experience down.

Not to mention the framedrops and CTDs, lmfao.

Wait for a sale.
