I liked and enjoyed the game all in all. If you are very patient, enjoy a basically walking sim, following story without much influence from your end, and can overlook the few frustrating bugs that it has, you will enjoy the game as well. Make sure to get it on sale and you are good i´d say.

That being said, i would recommend it even, if it weren´t for a few problems/bugs i experienced, that going by the discussions forums, have been there since even before it launched on Steam. They make the experience... a bit unsatisfying at some points. Examples:

- The headbobbing many people have been complaining about can be turned off by now, didn´t bother me much.

- There is no running-option in this game, besides it says there is. The speed for running is the same as walking, can be veryyy annoying throughout the game.

- There is no Save option! Not even talking about manual Save-slots, there is Autosave yes, but it doesn´t mean crap if you can´t use it. Why?

- Because each time you do load up the last auto saved Checkpoint, you can´t move anymore, end of story. You are stuck in place and can´t get anywhere from the loaded Checkpoint. What you have to do, to be able to move again is, you have to restart the entire respective level. This was the most annoying and frustrating bug this game has to offer, and again, going by the forum, it´s been there for a while and hasn´t been subject to a fix by the devs. Big minus here!

- There is no Chapter selection whatsoever. Reason why this might be annoying? You can´t get all the Achievements in one playthrough. Now if you don´t inform yourself in before hand, you won´t know that, before finishing the game at least once. As there is no Save-option and neither a Running-Mode... you have to do everything all over again, as slow as it is and just target the parts, you missed the Achievements in, within the first playthrough.

- At least one place, at the very End has a collider bug that just let´s you float upwards forever and as there is no save loading, bingo, you have to restart the level. There was another place this happened as well in the second Chapter but i saw people said, the devs fixed that over time. At least something.

All things mentioned above, have been reported multiple times, by who knows how many people, and the game has been out for a while, not just on Steam but on other Plattforms as well. Brings up the conclusion, either the Devs are not really interested to fix things or they just don´t care about it, as it kinda works and people buy it anyway.

Other than that, texture wise, atmosphere and scenery, the game just looks amazing, bis plus here. They did put a lot of effort into details, even if the repetition of items/assets is quite high here and there but it is not disruptive to the over all looks and the picture the game creates.
Horror/Thriller Faktor is getting higher towards the end but it´s nothing to bad, nor are there any jump-scares per se or similiar. It´s a tragic storyline you could say but you already see that it´s not all about sunshine and rainbows in the Trailers, so thats that.

It´s pretty entertaining, don´t expect to deep of a story, neither super hard puzzles to solve, just for something in between and a few lewds then you won´t be disappointed. Honestly it suprised me how long the story is and the translation is done pretty well compared to other titles of this genre. Music is nice as well all in all.

I did not expect, to find a little masterpiece, in this rather short game but i am very happy now, that i bought it.

Expect around 30 minutes of playtime, you don´t really act, it´s rather you follow a story, that you slowly gather the pieces of, while you follow the path, that the environment shows to you. You collect some items by looking at them, throughout the playthrough and they give a little additonal info about the passengers backstories. Be aware, the replay factor is quite low here, besides if you want to gather all the mentioned items (there are no achivements or anything) or just replay cause you liked the story. But other than that, basically, all the game is, you can see in the first playthrough.

Don´t be fooled by some of the negative reviews, i feel like some people, had very off expectations, when they got the game. This here is rather to relax, enjoy, experience and smile afterwards. I can definitely recommend the game and in my opinion it is worth the price, if it´s on sale even more so.

Reminds me of Arcanum or Baldurs Gate in the good old times.

I never expected, to find anything, of what I have found in VRChat throughout the years.

Hit 2000 hr now: Best Game I've ever played, period, it´s literal fun every day. Sometimes drama, yes, but most of the time fun with new found friends on a social platform with all kinds of facets.

Edit (27. Nov, 2019 / 5:43am) About 4000 hr now, still best game I've ever played. Wish I would have started playing it earlier than at the end of 2017. The exploration and adventures continue almost everyday. I cherish the connections to people I am able to make here and some of them I even met IRL by now, AX 2019 in LA was just awesome!

Edit (26. Nov, 2020 / 3:07am): Around 6350h in total now. Love the platform as much as I did when I started playing, nothing has changed on this behalf. Made many new friends and met amazing people, lost some of the old friends but that is how life goes sometimes. Overall very precious memories were made and I hope VRC is gonna stay around for a long time. Trying to enjoy every moment I can with the people in here I had the pleasure of meeting with.

Edit (25. Nov, 2021 / 3:22am) I am at 7538 hr now, gained not as many hours as usual throughout this year. Recently only been on, when I knew something is going on, or specififally on weekends, where the most events happen. Other than that, many new features released and even more are in the works, VRC is growing as steadily as ever. I am looking forward for the next year and what awaits us there.

Edit (25. Nov, 2022 / 10:37pm) Now at 8234 hr, again not as many hours were gained cause reallife happens and needs to be taken care of. So much in VRC has changed, so many new features were added that people were asking for for many years prior. The community grows just as steadily as ever and close to nothing has changed when you go on adventures and explore new worlds in publics. Personally I love the randomness and finding new people to hang out with that way.

Edit (29. Nov, 2023 / 8:52pm) Recently hit 10064hr, the year was more or less a blast so far. It's quite impressive how after all these years one can still make mindblowing new connections with people and communities that have been around for long but you are just unaware of them cause of the sheer number of people on the platform that roam around. I am having fun, lots of it, and it puts a smile on my face to see and hear about the adventures new players have while they explore worlds and make these same connections over time.

The comfort, relaxation, debattes, friendship, drama, jokes, memes, atmosphere, conversations and overall stories of different people around the world, you can find in/on this platform, is not comparable to something you could possibly buy with money, neither comparable to another game/platform so far.
It's so much more and it will change your view on so many topics in life, besides giving you this precious nostalgic feeling, every once in a while, when you relax, look back and start to remember: Who you met, what you did together and what all happened throughout your playtime in VRC.

Besides short breaks or set backs here and there, I enjoy every minute of it, will continue to do so and can wholeheartedly recommend VRC. Maybe we met one day out there, until then take care and continue exploring.
