It's sudoku, but with cats! (Added 17 March 2023: It is also dyscalculia and colorblind friendly!)

(Added 7 Dec 23: RANDOM PUZZLE MODE!!! The feature I thought was lacking was introduced a couple months ago, making the replayability endless.)

Music: relaxing, simple, doesn't get repetitively boring after five minutes. Well done.
Gameplay: Starts you off REALLY easy with a 4x4 grid and does a great job teaching the fundamentals of how to play.
Length: Not that long. There aren't a whole ton of puzzles, but you can redo them!
Cats: 15/10. You unlock the bios of the devs' cats as you go, so not only do you get to play sudoku with cute cats but you then get to see adorable pictures of cats!
BONUS: Actually teaches you how to properly introduce a new kitty into your household!

Overall: 12/10, absolutely worth it for a bit of relaxing and fun gameplay.

tl;dr - An amazing story that suffered from a critically short campaign and a crappy tacked-on multiplayer. Worth it for $20.

Homefront has an amazingly rich backstory and a wonderful premise based on speculation of current world events. I was incredibly excited to get this game immediately when it came out and dove straight into the campaign. The story was good, if a bit linear. There wasn't a lot of room for exploration and invention, though the non-interactive elements of the environment looked fantastic. I let myself get drawn into the the story and setting.

I noticed a few critical flaws. First, the controls were not always intuitive. When new weapons or situations arose later in the game, there was little to no explanation on how to take advantage of this. (I had to go into the keybinds to figure out how to pilot the helicopter, for example.) Some weapons were very under-utilized, appearing useful once or twice but otherwise pointless.

The end of the campaign was amazing from a story perspective -- and then simply ended. That was it. That's the game, thanks for playing. I had five hours of gameplay and I'd completed the campaign. It felt like a solid 'Act One' that had absolutely nothing else to it.

That's not entirely true ... there was a multiplayer component that was bland and wholly uninteresting, feeling like something they slopped into the game to claim 'Hey, we have multiplayer!' that flopped horribly.

At its current price of $20 I would say this is an entertaining single-player game you can enjoy for five or six hours. Don't bother with the multiplayer aspect and try not to lose your mind over the sometimes awkward controls.
