Short review after 38 hours playing time:

UPDATE: today I've run into not one, not two, but THREE game breaking bugs. The first one was after i defeated a certain npc and his curse still destroyed my kingdom - had to edit a save file to get over that one. Second, as it turned out, was not actually a gamebreaker but a long loading time https://gtm.you1.cn/app/640820/discussions/5/3393916911747854897/
Last and third, stuck in a conversation in the Abandoned Keep without any chance to progress the story. Make no mistake, the story IS good. But the game should never have been released in such a state, thus I can't recommend this game anymore until the major issues have been fixed. Will update again later.

UPDATE 2: The game finally starts to look like a game should right after release. Most of the worst bugs have been fixed and all in all functionality is much better. I'm also quite happy about the announced DLC which sounds exciting and interesting. In short words: I'm recommending this game again. P.S. Developers, christmas release would've saved you a lot of trouble. Still, good job after a very rough start.

Pros:
- Interesting setting and world.
- Instead of casual base building seen in many other crpgs, this game concentrates on building your own barony/kingdom almost from scratch. Protect your own lands while seeking opportunities to claim wild lands.
- Dialogue is well written and believable adding immensely to immersion.
- Moral choices have so far turned out very interesting - Good/evil -thinking does not work here most of the time. The writers have clearly spent time and effort to think about motives for NPCs.
- Difficulty spikes which are good to keep you on your toes.
- Vast lands to explore.
- Interesting NPCs.
- First crpg to use Pathfinder system (waiting for the first crpg to use D&D 5th edition rules!). With my somewhat limited tabletop experience of Pathfinder, the system is fairly loyal to it. Can't say nothing abot the game world, since that was totally unknown to me before this game.

Cons:
- Difficulty spikes sometimes seem totally out of place i.e. you beat a dungeon full of monsters barely breaking a sweat and the boss(es) wipe the floor with your spell-buffed party.
- Various bugs, the development team seems to be working hard to address issues though. No (save)game-breaking bugs encountered so far.
- The NPCs, while interesting, so far seem a bit superficial - I'd like to have much more conversations with them.
- The UI does not provide enough information sometimes, i.e. I chose Improved Critical -feat for my fighter, but I can't see information about that feat (character sheet still claims my threat range with Elven Curve Blade is 18-20 even though it should now be 15-20) working anywhere except that in combat I can see it clearly works.
- UI can be somewhat confusing at times, information can be difficult to find especially if you want exact data about your character, i.e. spell failure: you have to count it manually by checking your armor/shield/feats etc. even though it would be much more convenient if that were visible somewhere on your character sheet.
- Some game mechanics are not properly explained.

All in all, I'm very much enjoying this game so far and find myself wanting to play more and more - the cons, for me, are a minor annoyance so far. Will update in another 40 hours game time or so or if I run into something significant that would affect this early review. :)
