People complaining about having to connect Epic account... you don't have to.

Even if I did, as much as I hate Epic, I would still do it just to play this amazing game.

Pros:
Immersive - The atmosphere in this game is rich, adventuring, looting and exploring is satisfying.
Graphics - There are no stunning graphics, but it doesn't detract from the gameplay at all. The lighting and general look of the game is really fantastic in my opinion.
Fun main gameplay loop - farm, upgrade, build, loot, kill a boss. rinse and repeat over each biome and each boss.
Building - Each building piece has it's own structure, as you progress the game your builds will become bigger and more intricate as you unlock better wood types, stone and metal.
Combat - weapons in this game vary, you can focus different damage types giving you an advantage for certain mobs.
Unique food system - you are forced to explore different food options as your Viking wants a varied diet to unlock more health and stamina.
Modding - there is a vast amount of mods available to this game, lots of fixed and changes you can make to your gameplay.
CO-OP - to play with your friends it's so easy, very polished.

Cons:
Stamina - you need stamina to do EVERYTHING, build, deconstruct, terraform, kill, chop, mine. If you're doing anything in this game, half of the time you're waiting on stamina to regen.
Content updates - few and far between, the playerbase for this game is dying off slowly as content is dragged out.
Performance - building a big structure and using lots of lighting within those structures will cause severe frame drop.

Conclusion:
Get this game, even with the lack of content updates, the modding community is doing well, it's really fun and a great price for the amount of gameplay that you are given.

One of the best 4 player co-op games I've ever played. The main game loop is so fun and addicting. Can 100% recommend as the replayability is infinite.

I love this game,

Pardon my bias but, they took the last game, kept the nostalgia but improved everything.
The servers are great, playing with people has never felt better for AoE, there is hardly any lag when moving or selecting units. Its the most enjoyable version of AoE2 in my opinion.
