I played two or three games when it was on flash, and this game was on my wishlist for a good while.
Even tough I love platformers and action/hack and slash games, the main issue here is the lack of mechanics and freedom compared to games in recent years.

The lack of jump anytime, really hurts the gameplay, the level design is bland and feels boring to play, combat is... not so ok, it's not BAD, but for a combat-focused game it really lacks polishing. Another trouble is that you can't remap the controller keys. For the kind of game and assets, it doesn't feel optimized to run well on a laptop that would handle very well a few other platformers. Also, the level structure feels linear and aloof, just a sequence of short bland maps instead of something that really makes you want to explore.
Plus, even on sale the price tag feels a bit steep, considering the flaws I mentioned

Overall, I actually even recommend trying it if you miss the original games, but keep in mind that it feels dated and linear, and some platformers/metroidvanias can be much better in the same price tag or even lower.

Um metroidvania muito bom:
+ É difícil mas geralmente bem justo
+ Progressão no geral balanceada

First and foremost, hit F1 in the game menu, and in the upper corner change the language to english, there's fullscreen there too.
Well, it's a nice game, quick to complete (around 3.5h for 100%), the gameplay is mostly very smooth, art and music are neat, plot is simple but since it's quick that isn't that much of a problem.
By the way, it says partial controller support, but aside the configurations being by F1, the whole game is playable on controller without a problem, and it mostly feels very fluid.

Honestly, I found the price to be a bit too steep, even with 20% off, for the time in which you can complete it. But hey, the quality is here so I can recommend it anyway, just keep it in mind that it's a simple, well made, short metroidvania game without many mechanics and areas.

Been a long while I played this game, but I still remember well how fun it is to play and how much freedom you're given (don't abuse of it, lest you end up as cattle ration).

There is a ton of content to go through, lots of builds to try out, mobs to squash you, fun dialogues and references, like previous games. Also has a few great musics.
It's important to note that, due to game engine and some other stuff, do look for tweaks and alike if you got issues, and even if you don't they can really improve your gameplay/graphics.
A little steep price for a late 2012 game without updates but often gets good discounts. If you're a fan of 3rd person RPGs, like The Elder Scrolls, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Update after playing NGS: some base/legacy PSO2 servers are pretty much empty, NGS has a new body type that isn't compatible with a lot of the PSO2 looks, and NGS lack some important social stuff from PSO2 like your room, alliance quarters... really feels like a subpar release up to today.

TL;DR: base game itself feels nice and looks nice to play, but poor management makes it boring, unrewarding, grindy and money-grabbing by adding congesting it with flashy, pointless content (and fasheon).
The first phrase of the description: Free to play.
F2P? Hahaha, not at all. Playing free is sub-standard playing quality by their own will, and that gets obvious quite fast. It won't get "solved", because that's what intended.

I've played this for a while and, despite that, I can't recommend the game at all.
->It's not new, but graphics aren't too dated so you can have good visuals without a beefy PC.
->Gameplay is nice and fluid, feels nice on controller.
->Soundtrack is really, really nice in some parts, but they didn't manage it well, so it gets repetitive and annoying. Also annoying NPC voices.
->Plot is... not quite the strong point here.

IF this was an offline game, I'd recommend it for sure.

However, the administration is abusing micro-transactions and they feel invasive and always-present, every mechanic and new aspect present or added feels just like an excuse to squish new ways to pressure your credit card. In addition, mistakes (meseta bots, personal shop issues and timed-shops offline for many days) made the playerbase dwindle and people didn't come back to playing it, servers began feeling even emptier.

However, there are flaws that make it even worse:

The objectives are pretty much mandated by the events and season content. You can do whatever you want? Suuure, just don't expect other people doing it as well, or any good rewards. If you want progression, you'll need to do a long and boring grind.

The economy was architected to be very biased towards paying members. Free players have little access to player shops (aka most feasible income), trade is exclusive between premiums (sorry, what?) and so on. Bluntly said: premiums are the standard players, and free players are treated as sub-standard regarding quality.
Once the meseta bots were mostly dealt with, for instance, prices skyrocketed in many categories, making them almost inaccessible for free players. If clandestine players were making the game more accessible most of the players (which should be the staff's duty), it makes you think if the whole thing is worth supporting and spending your time in.

Mid-game and end-game systems are very misleading and made difficult without need to, just to squeeze more of your time or you wallet. Affixing, crafting and so on.

Prices for extra characters (not character slots), character renaming, and alikes are absurd.

It was a very quick erhm... newsletter, since even the continue button was without use.
The whole content lasted for 20 minutes. So why? And why not refund?
I urge to ask: why not?
It's cheap, worth a chuckle or two and doesn't even cost half a cup of coffee. Hopefully the devs will get to make bigger games, longer, not being RPGMaker. The writting is ok, could be better but it's still enjoyable
Personally, I'd like to get more news like those IRL. Make it on renpy or alike, add more content, more characters, spice up with other games parodies... not like their companies will give ♥♥♥♥.

And also important: don't be a loser, don't ask a refund on this game.

Like many here, I got this because of the great game that was FarSky, and decided to give this game a chance despite the meh revies. While I don't quite regret keeping the game, I only recommend it on sale and if you enjoy the genre quite a lot. Give their first title a try, and then think about this one. Despite recommending this game, I'd say its 6.5/10 on a 50% sale.

Sadly, this was indeed worst than FarSky, despite the new, interesting mechanics. The main problems would be:
- Static appearance of the character and only one weapon: having much less sense of progression and turning the gameplay less fun;
- Mechas (pets) have a buggy AI, frequently being stuck in stairs/terraint and not attacking. There would also be melee mechas rushing into you when you activate an ionizer (they think you're an enemy but gladly can't attack the character), which would make you be pushed around until finding enemies to fix the AI;
- Running feels a bit... odd;
- Upgrades are a bit shallow and unrewarding, making little difference mid/end game compared to the mechas you pick;
- Last island was really, really unchallenging when you have 3 good pets that "worked" well as a team. However, second island with just one pet was very troublesome;
- Lack of item variety: ALL chests contained only the basic ammunition... considering this is an open world that should try encouraging exploration, it's a sad flaw;
- Only one play mode, no coins like FarSky for sandbox mode or whatsoever. What's the point of a prodecurally generated world when it doesn't give reasons to play again?;
- Bad optimization, even more so with particles and many entities together;

Of course, compared to their first game, it is more beautiful, more varied, and the ship use very fun, the mechas were a nice concept... but the game felt buggy and you can easily find an exploit or two. The lack of eating and expandable base made miss the feeling of survival and personalization of the game.

TL;DR: If you like old-school isometric RPGs and don't mind severe flaws like:
-Mana has no regen
-lack of class/equipment and skills balancing (warriors and clerics are much easier to play)
-quests being quite repetitive (fetching or kill *&%$#)
-limitations due to being a mobile port (no modding and terrible controller compability)
-over time OSTs being repetitive
Then buy it without regrets

Well, at first the game gives a gigantic continent to explore, many well written quests, dialogues and descriptions (but in action things can be repetitive) and gotta admit it can be even addicting to play and I genuinely had a lot of fun. And this is the main reason why I really can support this game: only the most recent hours of the game were frustrating to me. Besides that, it really made me feel like playing another great old game, and this is a rare thing nowadays that we need more.

BUT, the mid/late and late game really annoyed me. Your lack of good skills/advanced skills, gears and weapons compared to other classes (cof warrior and cleric cof) makes the game feel really biased, mage is a complete pain at the beginning of the game, and rogue can vary a lot.

I'll say it right off the bat: I really disliked the original Postal. Not because of the essence, but because it was really clunky to play with a controller (darn, the precision!), and the graphics were terrible (understandable, really), it just didn't age well unless you have a nostalgia on it. This gem right here fixed those issues and added more neat stuff.

The content is the same, the Dude is the same, the stages are the same design and so are the hostiles. But it's polished and updated, focused on graphics and controller support, and it really makes it a very enjoyable game for today's standards.

I've played this game after Postal 2+ Paradise Lost, and it really is more shallow in context and has no dismembering system, or open world. This game follows a strict sequence of stages of the game mode you choose, no cash, no NPC interaction aside talking with bullets. However it wasn't that much of a bummer, because this game is very fun to play and looks neat.

So I recommend buying it on sale, specially the "Buy Every Postal (But that One) collection", But that one = Postal 3, which you really don't want anyway; and doesn't include Postal 4 either.
With all that said, enjoy your educational thrill on Paradise with your guide, Mr. Dude.

Bought it thinking it was a good, original idea...

Well, it didn't translate into a good mechanic for gameplay, it's still a clunky, no-fun to play (worst part) and dated-like RPGM experience. Even if it's low-priced you can find better games, or save for others.

Now if you'd excuse me, I'm gonna AFK for the cards because I purchased this game long ago and can't refund :(
