I am not at all great at articulating my thoughts sometimes, but something about Tactical breach wizards really spoke to me.

Was the game ground breaking? No. But it was done better than any game like it.

The writing is phenomenal. Its Creative, Clever, Hilarious, Sad, thought provoking, and ultimately its just fun all the way through.

Thematically its wizards in a modern setting, A staff rifle will never not be hilarious and cool.

All the characters, both Ally and enemy are all compelling and interesting people.

I think that's something that gets to me the most after it all they all still very much feel human.

Please I can't recommend this enough. Pick it up. Its better than any AAA game i've played in recent years and some how isn't AAA priced. Pick it up and dont skip the story you wont regret it.

I dunno what to really say but I was surprised by the game and how much Im enjoying it. The first few hours were so... rough and I considered refunding several times but eventually within the first 5 hours something clicked and im 64 hours in at the time of writing.

I am very much surprised how much I enjoyed running through the first 2 dungeons. Its fairly simplistic combat wise. The first dungeon is pretty linear with some hidden areas, and the second being linear but with a few branching paths here and there. Its full of jank but Ain't nothing wrong with Jank. Regardless I found myself really enjoying it haven't played with friends yet But will absolutely follow up when Ive done so.

Just like real life, Let the dust bunnies build up until your legions of roombas can cut through them like a bunch of blood thirsty warriors.

Okay, Im genuinely not sure how I feel about this, I don't at all hate it, Its fun, but. Incredibly linear. most enemies just... run straight at you or stand still and shoot you from a distance, Melee is... underwhelming somehow, Which feels weird for a warhammer game. Gunplay is fun however I will say Bolters don't feel like how youd expect. The rosary powers are mostly pointless expect to occasionally move something out of your way.... Like a chair.

The level design is a sore spot for me for sure. On one hand, The environments though not the best looking texture wise. Get the point across. However, Rooms are either empty, or have boxes very clearly placed down to act as cover you most likely wont even use because side strafing is just the better alternative. The use of color seems not well thought out at all. plenty of occasions Ive seen things like ladders that are bright yellow and Assumed it was for a secret or something and just... wasnt as far as I could tell.

Over all though, Yeah I recommend it if only because its a warhammer VR game. Its enjoyable at least for a little bit. I still need to try the co-op hoard mode at some point.

Let's get something out of the way. The game is not perfect and its certainly not for everyone. However, it is a very enjoyable, well put together, Interesting, and just all together FUN. Just don't go into it with assumptions that it will be like every other rogue-lite you have played. Its not.

To that note. The game is very linear, Every stage will be the same stage in the same order every run. However the challenge you have in that stage can change including locations of objectives (though this is not always the case) Every time you complete a challenge (beat a room) You get a choice of 3 random upgrade cards.

Off the top of my head there are 16 weapons to unlock all but 1 sporting fairly simple challenges to unlock a passive and an active ability of said weapon. These weapons range from a broken sword to a sniper, There is a flamethrower, a throwing spear, A staff that applies random status effects when you melee with it. So there is variety.

You can also equip a crown and 6 rings at a time. The crowns Gives some sort of constant affect to your character such as randomly firing lightning at a random enemy near you, causing an explosion when you take damage, and making all your attacks do fire damage. THe rings give fairly minor buffs to specific things like increasing how much health you have or in a few cases give you small passive abilities like a path of lightning when you dash.

There are a fair few Unlockable codex (lore) bits throughout all the levels, including information on enemies, the world, and even Artifacts you Collect to repair the broken sword.

At the time of writing I have not found every piece of codex however I have found most of them but a small handful. some are fairly well hidden.

There are 2 endings, 1 being a bad ending, the other being a good ending. Its fairly easy getting the bad ending but the good ending requires you to have a fair amount of skill and preferable knowledge to get through every chapter successfully (probably a bit of luck but ill leave that up to you to decide.)

Ultimately Its a very enjoyable experience, if not a bit short. It has replay-ability to a point. With every level being the same and always appearing in the same order there isn't much in the way of surprising you after you have players through a bunch.

I have yet to play it Multiplayer so I don't have much to say about that.

All in all. If you like a game that can be challenge while your learning it and have a "short" experience (a single completed run seems to take me about an hour.) Pick up PERISH, Enjoy the interesting and hand crafted levels, and make your way to Elysium.

Dracula's dogs scare me.

Get yourself a friend. I know tall order but trust me on this its worth it.
