The biggest budget eurojank title out there, and like most of them its damn good but incredibly rough around the edges.

I think I'm just Ideologically opposed to what the majority of the content in this game requires of you so I'll probably never do it.
Maybe I wouldn't be if the game did a better job justifying what its asking of you but that's only the case in a few specific scenarios and then it asks it of you across the board while just saying "trust me it'll be better for them too I swear!". Gameplay wise the game's mostly fine with a few genuinely cool moments, propped up by good music as well of course, but I think story/writing is where things fall apart for me. I could go on but reading other negative reviews, I think a lot of people have the same issues and have already articulated my points better than I ever could.

Near the quality of Ace Combat 7 with a tiny dev team of dedicated fans, and with full VR support, not to mention Conquest mode which will certainly have me putting way more hours into this than AC7.

It can be rough around the edges at times, but it controls like a dream, the story's compelling, the planes are sick (especially the experimental ones), and it really nails that feeling of being an ace. Most of all, it feels like a real passion project from people who give a damn, and that's worth supporting on its own.

One of the best roguelites I've ever played, with story, art, and music far beyond what most of them get. Can't go wrong with Super Giant. Really excited for the full release version later.

A good 40k game! Nice to finally have another one.
I really like the systems in this game, most people compare it to Xcom but there's no cover system outside of breaking line of sight. The game is much more focused on maximising your actions per turn by collecting cognition points. This feels great early and mid game but if you build right you'll never have cog problems by the late game and can cover the whole map in one turn, using every combat ability on the way. Feels great but also kinda unbalanced.
Ranged combat feels good in that even without a cover system you can move, shoot, and then still use the rest of your movement, so you'll spend plenty of time stepping out from behind cover, using both your guns, then stepping back into cover.
Melee is really strong in this game though, considering how many enemy units don't have a melee attack, ending your turn next to them for the free opportunity attack is fun, especially when you pin them into a corner and they can't do anything at all!
I'd say the game does a good job encouraging you to take risks to keep the awakening meter low by ending combat fast, without making the awakening meter a huge bother like Xcom2.
Between this and Mutant League Zero my turn based strategy itch has really been scratched.

So yeah I dunno just some scattered thoughts. Play it, s'good.
