A wise man once said "Man, Terraria is a great game, but what if i could MOD it?"
And thus, tModloader was born.
Forged in the firey depths of some dudes room, fed the blood sweat and tears of buggy code....
Okay for real though.
YOU CAN MOD TERRARIA WITH LITTLE TO NO EFFORT ON YOUR PART!!!
Realistically, who wouldnt want that?

As much as i wanted to love this game on its full release in 2019, i just... i cant.
I played in the alpha way back in the day as well, and honestly.... yeah its worse.
Its SO much worse now. The fact that modding the game is MANDATORY to enjoy it is a HUGE problem.
I really really wish this game was still good. Its... its just not.
I honestly wouldnt be surprised if Wollay intentionally ruined the game so that people would leave him alone, but thats merely my own thoughts.

If you are considering buying this game, please take note that it will REQUIRE mods to have any semblance of fun,
and even then, its with a bitter heart i reccomend against it. Supporting indy devs is good, but at the same time, those devs need to give their fans proper communication. Wollay has had an EXTENSIVE history of NO communication for months to YEARS. I cannot support this project.
Now, if the game gets updates and better, ill happily revisit and update my review accordingly. But as of right now, it is NOT worth the $20 they are asking.

Still a fantastic series, after all these years.

Update: I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ LOVE THIS GAME. THEY KEEP MAKING IT BETTER AND BETTER

This game is wonderfully made! It gives me a bit of a Binding of Isaac vibe, with some nods to older games from my childhood, most notably some sprites with a fairly Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past feel. The game is challenging, but not unfair.

Current Pros:
The game runs GREAT! No bugs or issues so far!
The soundtrack is actually pretty good!
Sprites are well made!
Combat is smooth and feels good. I especially enjoy the enemies that yeet you into another room.
ONLINE CO-OP! This is a HUGE plus for me. I am sad at the ammount of games like this that are local co-op only.
Keyboard controls are just as comfortable as gamepad controls, and you can rebind the keys!

♥♥♥♥:
4 classes are locked behind a $20 DLC wall, which feels a little steep for what theyre offering. However they HAVE made a VERY promising title and have it as free to play, so there is THAT to consider.
The boss can be killed solo and the next floor initiated by any one person, which diminishes the playstyle for those who like to clear floors. I reccomend there be a system implemented to allow for everyone to agree when to hit the next floor.


Overall i GREATLY enjoy this game so far, and am eager to see where it goes. I HIGHLY reccomend giving it a try. Its free. What do you have to lose other than 30 minutes to give it a whirl?

Okay. so the trailer makes this game look really dumb.

In all reality though, this game is absolutely AMAZING.
Best i can describe it is DnD with card based actions.
Its got some really good humor, and can actually offer a pretty good ammount of challenge.
I havent ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with any of the real world money shops, so i couldnt say if its P2W or not.

Typical gameplay: You are put into an adventure / quest, and you have to use strategy and your cards to defeat the enemies. To get new cards, after every battle you get loot, which take the form of items to equip to your characters. Each item offers a new set of cards, which increases strategical aspects. theres actually even co-op, and its a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of fun! theres also PvP, and ranked PvP, but i havent ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with that, im not a PvP kinda person.



all in all, if you are on this page, and like humorous dnd-esque games, ignore the trailer. try this out. its free, and a fairly small download. what is there to lose, other than a few hours xD?

If you enjoyed borderlands 1 and borderlands 2, I would highly reccomend the pre sequel. Ignore anything bad youve heard about it, too many people are only comparing it to 2. The gameplay is satisfying, the story is really good. TPS keeps the same feel, even being from a separate team. I had a blast playing through it so far, and look forward to trying all the characters out

IF you liked Magic the Gathering or any similar TCG, then play this. Its absolutely amazing, and its free!

Have you ever wanted to get into TCG's but cant afford em? Then this is definitely the game for you. You can get cards by completeing the campaign, completeing certain challenges, even logging in and playing a few games everyday yeilds rewards!
If you cant afford a TCG hobby, play this. Its well worth your time.
