If you're easily motion sick, like me, the game is most likely unplayable for you. The camera is bobbing ALOT in this game and the camera movement is extremely motion sick inducing. I've tried play around with the settings a bit to try make it work but sadly, can't turn off head bobbing and some of the other horrible motion sick inducing effects.

Other than that, the game is creepy, it does what it's supposed to in terms of being a horror/scary game. Has a bunch of puzzle you need to solve and find solution to and such which range from super easy to very tricky. So based on that, I would highly recommend it for those that enjoy horror games with problem/puzzle solving elements.

Stay clear if you're easily motion sick tho. Or try it and be prepared to refund it if you can't get around it.

61h before really leaving Act 1 but think I've done everything there is to do now in Act 1 and so far I really really love the game and all it offers so far, despite not having had experience with proper DnD games before (like rolling dice and such) even tho I did play Dvinity Original Sins 2 quite alot.

TL;DR - I highly recommend the game if you're into exploration, story and RPG

The things that sticks out to me is the vast amount of choices, freedom and exploration the game offers. Offering multiple playthroughs which will feel unique and differ from one another based on your choices (unless you do the same ofc) and even more so if you decide not to "Save Scum" (belive thats what its called atleast).

Price : I would say 100% worth the money, any game that offers me over 1h played for less than 1 dollar/euro cost is worth it. Seeing as I still haven't left Act 1 and I believe there is 3 or 4 total I'm expecting alot more hours to come aswell as another playthrough or two!

Coop : Can play up to 4 people where you do have your own character, your own "bank stash" and your own inventory and all with choices and all you can choose freely. The game has systems to allow conversations with NPCs and the like to be smooth, fair and all aswell if so chosen. Players listening in on the conversations can also vote for which option they would like the conversation-holder to choose, giving you a form of democracy if so wanted aswell!

Combat : It is turn based and is based upon who initiates the fight aswell as how "quick" your character is and thus will get you a turn before others. It has RNG elements to it aswell like a typical DnD setting should with dice rolling, advantages and disadvantages etc. Your characters build/setup is to offset this RNG as much as possible but can never be avoided fully. To me atleast, this makes combat feel a bit more refreshing, exciting and entertaining in a way something without RNG would.

World : I find it beautiful, alot of nice areas to explore which feels different from the one you were in previous. So good scenery. It also feels pretty full of things you can encounter, be it secrets, lootable chests and crates, enemies or other NPCs and the like.

Characters : I find most of them unique and interesting in their own way, even smaller unimportant NPCs that essentially does nothing or has no value to any quest or such.

Overall : A pleasant surprise in the plethora of games that's been released last couple of years that are super unfinished, unpolished or just straight up unplayable (Looking at you Diablo 4)

TL:DR Game has some game breaking bugs and glitches that hinders you from getting 100% achievements on Steam and from actually even reaching max level inside the game if you're unlucky like me. Despite it having been out for months now. Devs seems to be aware but until they're properly fixed I can't recommend the game.

EDIT : Bugs seems to have been fixed somewhat or has solutions online that solves it so it's possible to get 100% achievements now but would still not recommend the game.


Longer Review :

Story : It's alright tbh, nothing fancy, nothing amazing, but it's okay and does the job somewhat I guess. At parts it will however get kind of predictable and a bit boring when some areas are drawn out and not very fun regions/sections and just in general make you lose some interest in the actual story since the side missions are usually more interesting if you'd ask me.

Combat : Oh boy is this a mess. At first it's fun, it feels kind of smooth early on, later on it just feels punishing to even use spells as their damage for the most part is lacking unless you abuse certain mechanics like Depulso (Push back) a charging enemy so they take massive bonus damage (usually close to one shot if not a one shot). But despite using those mechanics... they're overshadowed by the strongest combat setup in the game... The plants... Specifically Chinese Chomping Cabbages, they will melt your enemies even without perks and you can setup perks to massively boost this damage aswell as put some talent points into it to spawn even more of them. For reference, a troll might take you up to a minute with normal spells if you don't use ancient magic, and the CCC kills them in roughly 5s, all while you can just run around in a circle.

Collection : It have you go far and wide and there's many different kinds of collections, puzzles and similar, which was nice and refreshing to a start... Got repetetive after some time and felt more like a chore than a fun time exploring towards the end.

I'd still say it's an OK game but I won't recommend it for anyone who cares about basically doing all there is to do or to get 100% completions as it's currently glitched and alot of people seem to have issues which some can resolve using different methods but doesn't seem like everyones able to solve it despite there being a few "fixes" online... I seem to be one of those people sadly with certain items not rendering into the game and thus preventing you from actually finishing a puzzle because the key element is missing (Lumos Mirrors in this case).

For sure isn't worth it's price imho. Even with basically 100% completion I've spent about 1$ per hour played on my actual character, a bit too high for a game of this quality I'd say.

Game runs pretty smooth in terms of settings and fps, constant 60 even when ALOT is going on. The theme is pretty nice and the gunplay in combo with your powers feels fun to use and experiment with. I will however say that the world can at times feel a bit empty depending on how much you look around and loot and how much you just rush from place to place. Hoping more enemies will be added within reasonable time.

Haven't gotten far into the story but seems interesting too so far.

Had some hiccups when we tried to play as a trio with Aim Down Sight (ADS) bugging out and one of our friends randomly getting kicked out and such. After I believe it was our 2nd reset. Playing with friends also has a rather unique system that I personally atleast haven't seen before. Staying close to allies when doing stuff like killing a vampire, finishing a mission etc will grant you with essentially friendship which in turn also unlocks more dialog options since your characters basically get to know eachother better in game.

Overall, I'd recommend this for most people that like Borderlands like games, pretty chill and casual game so far playing on normal diff(dusk).




Can definitely see why it's gotten alot of hate but I personally don't share that opinion and alot of the ones who does leave negative reviews seems to have sub 1 hour played.

New rules for the game forces you to put in your age for whatever reason. Not having a functioning scroll wheel (yes I know, getting a new mouse soon) meant I was unable to scroll in the year drop down and my highest age possible to choose was 6yo. This means to play the game, and be able to use free-chat or join any lobby I want, I'm required to either provide actual ID proof, Credit card info or similary information.

Every workaround I've tried does not seem to work at all as Innersloth seems to have updated how their files protect themselves.

Would recommend not to play the game or not to buy it until they fix this and actually provide a sensible system regarding choosing your age etc, as this seems to be a big issue for quite alot of people (Wrong age, can't change it issue)

Review:
B4B has the L4D feel we love but personally more enjoyable as it seems missions are more random with corruption cards modifying it. We also have a better RPG aspect through building our own decks and characters to better deal with the content thrown our way.

I'm hooked, I would recommend anyone who likes co-op games such as L4D, Vermintide, GTFO and similar to give it a try.
