Plain Fun
This game is just a blast. As someone who sort of likes Risk of Rain 2 and is not really a fan of the Borderlands series, this game feels better than both combined with new, fresh takes on it. The guns are creative, the enemies are fun and fair to fight, and it's just a blast. The performance is also excellent; I'm getting ~120ish FPS at 1440p on my Fury X at max settings.
The only downsides are a few weird bugs and some hilariously bad translation sometimes, but they're working on this and making some big progress.

Don't read any more reviews. Don't look up anything else about this game. Download it right now and play it all the way through in one sitting.
Do it for ♥♥♥♥♥

Authentic, inspired, and riveting. I don't typically enjoy these types of games, but this is a masterpiece everyone should try.

A timeless classic.

Simple to pick up, hard to master. The game revolves more around the strategy of controlling/allocating resources and countering tactics/units rather than memorizing hotkeys or micro-ing.

It's so cheap for the base game that I'd just flat out recommend buying it without any further thought. This is well known for being THE best RTS of all time, and for good reason.

Disclaimer: I received this for free on a free weekend. I played a couple hours of it, so in no way is it a full experience. With that aside, I very rarely actually dislike games. This is one of them and I'll explain why.

As a quick summary, this game is simply broken. I'll explain more later. The only pros so far: if you enjoy Far Cry 4's capturing of locations, you'll find this here, and the visuals are really great.

But otherwise: buggy, absurdly poor performance, poor scalability, mouse acceleration on with no way to turn it off besides configs, and other strange issues make it nigh unplayable. Whatever, I can fix some of that, ignore some of it, and try to play the game, right? Nope. The controls are very clunky and the psuedo-freerunning is also subject to many of the same bugs. I've gotten stuck on terrain so many times. Gunplay feels extremely awkward at best. The customization was something I was looking forward to, but after unlocking the battle rifle, AR, and LMG plus kitting them out nearly fully within an HOUR I realized there simply isn't much depth offered here.

The AI is so remarkably stupid that I've discovered a trick to defeat them nearly every time. They don't know how to shoot through surfaces below them. For example: industrial iron floor grids are things you can shoot through. I captured a couple points because they did not know how to shoot through it, while I easily picked them off. They get stuck on walls, in the ground, and I've seen a couple go to the default Jesus pose. It's VERY broken.

Until/if they ever fix this--this game feels pre-alpha and I am not exaggerating when I say that it's not worth any amount of money. I didn't even pay for the bandwidth and I still kind of regret downloading it.

I'd give it a 2/10, even considering the unfortunate circumstances of development. The fun just isn't really there. The only thing I can really say about it is that it's "kind of" functional as a tech demo.

Do you look back on the days in the arcade blasting villains for a high score with nostalgia? Because that is exactly what I first thought of when I started playing through the addictive story. I'll give you my first impressions about halfway through the game right here:

9.5/10. It's great for what it is, and it's really a diamond in the gutter.

At heart, it's an arcade shooter, and that's absolutely refreshing and tons of fun. There's loads of replay value in the forms of little "nuggets of truth," the tidbits of historical info, and the drive to get a great combo going. I would also like to make special note of the voice acting and soundtrack, as they hearken back to proper Westerns in all the ways you'd expect. The soundtrack is really beautiful on occasion. The story is told in the background of your actions, and it's both a good story and a well-acted one. The gunplay is very fun, as is the sense of progression.

However, there are some minor gripes I have with the game:

-Graphical fidelity is all over the place, and there is some kind of weird issue where it looks to be lower-resolution than it actually is, or that could be a fault with the aesthetic that seems to make everything blend into the background. It is either a very pretty game, or a god-ugly disaster depending on the area. There are some borders along the screen, and while it adds to the effect, I want the option to turn them off.

-Duels. They suck, and frankly they don't add much to the game. Good thing you're not doing too many of them, and regular boss fights are actually very fun.
Buy it as fast as you can and get going!

I don't usually like indie games, nor am I a fan of strategy for the most part. This is an exception. It's strangely charming. The soundtrack is hauntingly beautiful--enough so to warrant me downloading it from the Humble Bundle a while back. The visuals are serviceable, and absolutely do not detract from the experience at all; in fact, it adds to the feel of the game. This game is such an exception to what I normally like: amazing visuals and a mind-blowing experience. Faster Than Light is a different breed, and it's so good it's hard to dislike.

The gameplay is actually easy to pick up. People everywhere have always said that this is a hard game. It is and that's not a lie. However, the learning curve is quick. Just do the tutorial and you'll have it down. I'm not a particularly good player either. Really, if you're worried about the difficulty--don't. It'll make you miss out on the rest of the game.

It's primarily about light RPG elements and micromanaging your crew and ship while fleeing the Rebel fleet and finding, and fighting, friends and foes along the way. As far as I can tell, each game is randomly generated. This makes for a new experience every time. Loot is an important factor, as is upgrading and maintaining your ship. It's a very simple system, but full of difficult choices. It manages not to be overwhelming but still have some depth.

Overall, this is easily one of my favorite games. I have a very busy schedule, so I have to pick up and play for a little bit at a time, but it does have the depth to play for a long time straight.

One of the best games of all time. Definitely on the level of KOTOR. That's how good this game is.

I'll preface this with the fact that I don't typically like RPGs, and usually not fantasy games for that matter. This is an exception. I love that it's accessible, but has the immense depth for those who enjoy the genre as well. You don't need to go around casting spells if you don't want to do so. I just went around with an axe in one hand and a shield in the other as a Nordic warrior. Can you go full-mage? Absolutely.

There's choice in anything you want to do. It's a sandbox. You don't even need to do the main quest if you don't really care for it. You can simply wander and live on the road, like I did. Something's so oddly satisfying about stumbling upon a little secret tucked away in the huge province of Skyrim. It's a beautiful world as well.

Everything about this game is better with mods. Want hardcore survival? Done. Better graphics? Done! Want to fly around in a TARDIS while wearing MJOLNIR armor and with Cortana as your companion? I did that. It's easy to do, too. Just hit subscribe in the Steam Workshop and that's all you have to do.

While I only have 48 hours put into this at the time of writing, I had put in 200 on my Xbox, and my brother 300 more. We both agree that this is easily one of, if not the premier, experience of this generation. Get this. I didn't go too in-depth in this review because I'd love for you to enjoy it yourself and find those little secrets that make this game so enjoyable.
