People calling this"pokemon with guns" are morons. This is just Ark with Pokemon in place of dinosaurs.

If you like Ark, you will like this, because it is the same game... But with Pokemon.

2nd Biggest waste of my time and money next to getting a Bachelor's Degree.

Will keep playing until it is numbah wun, like China, who also happens to own this game.

Ok, so for starters, and for the record, I *LIKED* Planet Explorers... (Pathea's other game).

WIth that out of the way, here's my (slightly drunk) review of My Time At Portia.

So incase you haven't read any other review or don't know how to read descriptions, the premise is basically Harvest Moon meets Adventure TIme, or rather Simple Life with an Adventure Time themed world. (not sure if anyone remembers/played Simple Life on ps2, but w/e).

Most people list positives first, but I say BLAHIBID QUALIZIF to that, let me tell you what sucks about it!

- Combat is terrible. I clicked the primary mouse key for the enitrety of the game only hitting menu occaisionally to buff/heal. They want you to dodge or something but you don't ever have to since most of the actually difficult fights are about letting your buddies take the hits/do the damage and just clean up.

- Aesthetic/target audience may not click with some. As I said, it's like Simple LIfe/Harvest Moon with an adventure time theme, but the balance definetly is not weighed on the adventure time side. It's kinda kiddie, looks like it was made for younger audiences, that's not a problem in my bood, but some people might be turned off by it.

- Incomplete content. Not everything is there... (yet). VA, bugs, some planned content. It's not all perfect. They should have let the EA continue throught the final patch before doing a RC, but w/e. It is what it is. Maybe wait, but know it'll probably get better.

That's all I can think of on the negative. Here's what I like (love) about it.

+ Harvest Moon. Its a life management sim. You love Harvest Moon/Rune Factory/Stardew Valley? Here you go.

+ Stylization. It is a highly stylized game aesthetically, and it is clear the developers did a little (or a lot of) worldcrafting with it.

+ Story. Honestly, I know it feels like the story is trite and made for "little kiddies", but did you see that final story twist coming? Yes? You are lying, no you didn't. Other than that, it's pretty basic, but with some neat little twists thrown in.

+ Content. There's a lot to do here. You will need dosh to finish everything. So get farming and raise a family yo!

+ I actually liked Planet Explorers, don't hate me for it, but I saw a LOT of it in here... Especially the Glide pack on Evergreen

I recommend this game... I guess that's all I'm trying to get at. For all its flaws, it's still a pretty decent time sink. And worth checking out (especially if you liked Planet Explorers)

No matter how you die in this game, it will be horrible and scary.
