They fixed the one major bug that made the game unplayable. The game is great now.

Its Frostpunk but in Space!

Finished my campaing with Brazil, but had to cut it short because by 1895 the game was slowing to a crawl and became unplayable for me.

The economic aspect is hard to learn and easy to master. Quite literally just build one of each industry in your nation and set it to "auto-expand". From time to time build up construction industry and bureocracy stuff as you get more free cash, and dont forget to build 1 railway and 1 power plant in every state (and them set them to auto-expand). Boom, you just solved both your eco problems and your pop need problems. You make money in this game via taxes, and you get better taxes if your pops are richer and make more money, so you want to raise their QoL so that they pay more taxes. Also, TAX SERVICES. Its a S-Tier tax.

For RGOs you dont have, either puppet nations that do or buy it on the market. This brings us to the god awfull trade system. You have to manually set a trade route (import or export) for everything. There is no way to automate that, you just have to do manually check all goods that you need more of and set the trade route. The only way to get any sort of automated "trade" is by getting nations to join your market by either puppeting them or making them join your customs union via diplomacy.

War is the hot topic. War is incredibly easy. Have a big army and a big purse to afford the equipment for the army. But be careful because injured soldiers become depandent and they will eat trough your purse due to welfare. My suggestion? Puppets. Puppet other nations and have them fight your wars for you. As Brazil I puppeted the entirety of South America in the first 20 years. After that I disbanded most of my professional army and just let the puppets do the fighting.

There´s also a huge lack of information. In 1885 50% of my country was on walfare, as dependants, but the game doesnt tell you who those dependants are. Are they children and I need to lower the education budget? Are they injured soldiers and I need to slowdown on war? Are they old and I need to cut down on elderly welfare? No information, at all.

Technology is very random. Dont bother building universities, just make the industrialists be friendly with you and they will build universities for you for free. Literacy rate is important tho. The only tip I have here is to rush railway tech asap so that you can build up infraestructure on your nation.

Some policies are brain dead. Lazze Faire (and anything that allows more pops to invest in your busineses like stock markets) are always good. I went command economy as a meme before I stoped playing and it sucks ass because the profits of your state owned industries... dont go to you but to the workers, and while they pay more taxes, now 100% of the money that goes into industrial expansion comes from your pocket instead of the capitalists. Also, ban slavery ASAP to get more tax money, slaves dont pay taxes.

Overall. I had some fun, and I recomend the game, but the game needs a lot of improvement.
