Squash bugs go brrrrr

It gets a thumbs up from me, just about! But honestly this title feels really weak compared to Skyrim or Fallout.
No overly interesting characters have captured my attention so far. I find myself read-skipping dialogue. Many mechanics are poorly explained and the outpost system feels like massive step backwards compared to Fallout4 Settlements.

You can tell they've put alot of love and time into this game and the cities look amazing. But again all backed up by some okay writing. Most quests feel very samey. Go to X location. Kill Y person. Loot Z thing. Go back.
The first hour I was convinced was a joke with how rushed the story felt. You go from boring miner to the most important person in the universe within about 5 minutes and not in a good way. Who would REALLY give their space ship away to an almost absolute stranger? Especially with my character having criminal traits. Just makes zero sense to me.
Honestly at times spend more time navigating the poorly designed map menus than I do in questing. The 'space' part of this game is nothing more than a glorified fast travel system for the most part.

Honestly i'm overall quite disapointed in this game. But for some stupid reason i still give it a thumbs up as it is okay.
If you had to choose between Baldurs Gate 3 and this game I would choose BG3 any day.

This review feels quite ranty. It's good, but in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ kinda way. A bit like how Disney could serve up a turd on a plate, call it Star Wars and I would still enjoy it. That kinda way.

Edit January 2024: I tried to get back into Starfield over the xmas holidays and I just can't and it breaks my heart that I can't. I had to go back to Fallout 4 just to remind myself why I called my cat Beth(esda). Sorry Todd, but i'm going to change this to a negative review now. Please don't waste your time or money. You probably wont enjoy this game the same as many others. A game shouldn't take 10-20 hours of gameplay to 'get good'.

Play it with friends and you'll have a good time.
