ANYA MY BELOVED!!! <3 <3 <3

It was my first ever RE game I played myself, so I guess I'm kinda nostalgic towards it. Though I did play it on the 3DS first with gyro controls. Young me was built differently, it seems.

Let's just say, I started screaming when the frogs popped out of their weird pimples on my first ever playthrough.

Maria is definitely one of my more...riskier "Woulds".

Splendid remake, hope we see more of them in the future!

I am...very much split (ha ha) on this game. This review might get changed later on.

On one side, it's definitely a very cool concept with good ideas.
But on the other, I wonder if it actually went past that stage. Don't get me wrong, I think the game is pretty ok, but I can't help but not ignore some glaring issues.

- The chemicals/meds you have are INCREDIBLY scarce.
- So scarce in fact that multiple people have softlocked themselves by accidentally producing the wrong med or by running out of tranq darts. The latter happened to me in the penguin enclosure.
- If you tranq an animal (especially the penguins), they very often stop in such a way that you can't get a blood sample, wasting a VERY precious tranq dart. No matter how har you run around and spam-click, nothing. This caused my softlock - there just isn't any more meds.
- "Oh, just do another enclosure first" WRONG! The game ACTIVELY locks you out of that. If you start the penguin enclosure and then wanna do the wallabys to maybe get more tranq shots? You can't. You need to finish the enclosure first.
- It takes the animals a looooong time to eat and poop. I spent around 40 minutes in the penguin enclosure because the penguins did not want to eat or poop. By the way, this isn't a "sick animal only" issue. They either poop after 2 seconds or 20 minutes.
- The boss fights and mutations are...yawn. You don't see them mutate. You just go to the train, do your thing, and then BOOM, red lights everywhere and you see a semi-spooky animal looking at you.
- The boss fights are absolutely garbage too. You can not die. Once you notice that, all sense of fear and danger is out of the window. Just go in guns blazing. Your biggest punishment is the fact that you get a lukewarm-at-absolute-best "jumpscare" and a cutscene where you puke. Twice. These are indeed separate damn cutscenes.

And that's just my personal reported issues. I've heard that a lot of people have issues with the gorilla enclosure too, or regular freezing.

Super cool game and - unsurprisingly, considering its name - it's also very polished.

I hope we'll get more levels and maybe even DLCs!

Such a cool little game! Definitely worth buying.

Aw hell yeah, they ported my childhood to PC.
