TL;DR: 7/10, if you can’t deal with some minor bugs or the fact that losing your ship is a /part/ of progression and moving forwards, this probably isn’t for you.

I don’t have an exuberant amount of hours in this game, however! I do have enough playtime in this game to identify some key points.

Worlds adrift is a game about exploring, ship building, and finding out lore about the world before everything, in short terms, seemed to go to ♥♥♥♥. And it lived up to that title.

Pros:
- Wonderful ship building. The way you can shape and mold your ship into how you see fit is wonderful.
- The grind. Normally this doesn’t go in a ‘Pros’ list, but the grind for materials is basically nonexistent unless you’re trying to minmax your quality of metal. Islands reset periodically and in general have a large amount of resources for shipbuilding. Not to mention the amounts of metal and schematics you can get from hidden chests. I have yet to find myself bored with searching for knowledge points, mostly due to the mass of islands and none of them are ever quite like the others, due to them being player created with the island editor.
- The Devs. Bossa is a wonderful group of developers that have been more than just active with the community. With an active support team, relatively lots of streams, and a weekly ‘captains log’, you’ll never feel like the devs are out of touch.
- Ship combat: Oh man, I really like the ship combat. I have little issues with cannon shots not connecting where they should, but watching enemy ships visibly take damage and have plates and engines fall off is a satisfying game.
- Two servers. PvP and PvE. PvP for exploring with a hint of piracy or high-tension situations, but there’s a PvE server for people who’d like to have a peaceful adventure.

Cons:
- Not the best optimization. Sometimes there’s some issue with multiple large ships loading in, I can normally handle about 5 different ones with with a GTX 1070TI and a i7-8700k CPU. When not around a ton of HUGE ships, medium and high end systems can handle this easily though.
- Player weapons. While I’m sure this will get fixed, for now there are little choice in character weapons besides a pistol. However, this is a game focused on ship exploration and ship combat, so it’s not too big of a deal.
- Somewhat buggy servers. From my experience, servers seem to have their ups and downs. Thing can be either very fluid, or more than jerky. I’ve died more than once to my ship just launching forwards and sending me flying off.

Something I’ve noticed: Knowledge RNG compared to schematics seems off balance. Time is much better spent looking for schematics than knowledge points. I’m putting this down here because it’s more of a note instead of a pro or con.

Short out to me if you see ‘Wulfthorne’ in game. ;)
