Early Access Review
Great FPS with immersive sim elements. The voice acting, aside from one character, is top-notch, and the dialogue is pretty sharp. The music ties everything together beautifully, and the period pieces introducing each level are a nice touch—especially the one in chapter 4. The golden-age comic and noir pulp mashup works brilliantly, creating a unique atmosphere.

The levels are well-designed, offering a lot of openness, verticality, and a good bunch of secrets to discover. There's some decent replay value here.

While Early Access isn't ideal, I'm looking forward to the next two episodes.

Played through Legion once on console and wanted to start another playthrough because I recently replayed 1 and 2 but it's just way too flawed and not really fun. Don't bother with it. The story is trash, the "every npc can be your character" shtick is a huge step down from the previous two titles, because every char you play as feels completely soulless and the world just feels empty in general.

The ai is dumb as hell, there are still bugs from around launch that were never fixed, which keep breaking the already pretty much non existent immersion, missions are very repetitive and bland, etc.

Take clothing stores for example: As opposed to WD1 and 2, you can't even enter the actual store anymore, they have been reduced to a little terminal in front of a generic storefront that opens up a store ui on the side of your screen. Just like this example, most of the game feels undercooked and like not very much thought went into it.

If you want to play WD, play 1 then 2 and just forget that Legion exists.

WD 1 creates a pretty gritty atmosphere where the protagonist essentially has to take down a crime syndicate to avenge his murdered family. WD 2 takes on the complete opposite direction: it has a cheesy/campy atmosphere and story, quite like the mid 90s movie "Hackers". It works most of the time and it's pretty light hearted fun. Not my prefered style but still - it was more than decent. WD L, on the other hand, does not know what it wants to be and falls completely flat on every front because it's devoid of any character and the concept honestly just sucks:

"Ay, random civilian number 10857, do you want to join our top secret government undermining underground organization? You're in? Splendid. Here is complete access to our full technical abilities, secret hide-outs all over town and access to all of the members identities. What? We've only known each other for 1.5 minutes, you say? Doesn't matter, old chap, I'd trust you with my life." -- The first and second game already had a good amount of plot holes but come on. You'd have to be borderline vegetative to be able to immerse yourself in this story.

It's a shame that this game was probably the final nail in the coffin for this franchise.

AI behavior is totally random. Either you have godlike defense or your ai players do jack and just watch or not move at all while just looking at the ball. This goes for yourself and also for your opponents.
Players with 90 PAC suddenly move like they're running on quicksand.
Absolute dumpsterfire of a game being used as a front for an online casino.
Also features horrible input lag in certain moments.

Very annoying to play. Terrible performance on high-end hardware, seems like a very bad port, given the numerous complaints on the internet from the time it released up until now. Shame, the combat was fun.
