It is SO LONG WINDED. I've been playing 3.5 hours and have been in a grand total of 41 fights. Everyone just drones on and on and on. There's some joke character nobody likes because she drones on and on and on but you know what? She jumps from topic to topic but she speaks on each topic for only as long as it takes to say what needs to be said.

Everyone else though?

Let's pretend your character asks someone which way someone went down the road... when you FINALLY find someone who knows? There will be twenty lines of dialogue exchanging pleasantries, 30 lines about the nature of roads, how they're made, who is allowed to use them, 20 more lines of BS about why Kiryu wants to know, 40 lines of him explaining why, and then 5 lines of the person finally answering your question and telling you to have a nice day. You would then never see this person again.

The people who wrote this game are _TERRIBLE_ storytellers. I'd like to comment about the combat systems but I can barely remember being in any fights.

Just wonderful. Although I've only managed 15 minutes of gameplay so far, I've trial and errored my way to the base of a full blown Metroidvania and it would not have been possible otherwise.

We waited 2 years for this? This is like someone's first UnrealEngine TPS deathmatch. There's no variety in modes, no bots, no NPCs nothing at all to do except boooooring deathmatch. It's not even _team_ deathmatch.

They needn't have bothered.

Tutorial is garbage. A great majority of the game mechanics are left out and you're just thrown into a match with no idea about your mobility options, or any way to counter the fact that everyone but you seems to know where guns are.

Quite chill, and the ability to help other players with you constructs is very satisfying.

This is a lot of fun. What primarily makes it so for me? The story is not thrown in your face with a ton of exposition, which is a common mistake games make. Don't show me a 10 minute cinema screen at the beginning of a game, _let me play the damn game_. Now, that right there is a big plus, but the game itself? It's smooth and has a lot of potential for entertaining combos. Is it the most efficient to smack a guy a few times, kick him up in the air, yank him down with a scarf then one-inch punch his butt off a building side? Heck no. Is it fun? Heck yes!

The story line does not, as I have heard others say "make light" of Japanese occupation of these places at all. What it does is show both the heroes and antagonists as (cartoon versions of) real people. It awful that a woman is held as a courtesan against her will, but that doesn't mean she forgets how to laugh and care for others! The human condition is to try and find the best in life even when all you have is oppression. I like how this story reflects that.

I mean... it's a love letter to the Build Engine games of yesteryear... in fact it uses their own custom version OF said engine.

Ignore the naysayers about the weird tearing: that actually happens with the original cartridge. if you used composite It's really not a bug. You get used to it fast.
