This is not a game. It is an experience. One that everyone should have. Honestly, that is all you need to know. So buy it. And experience it.

A great game, period. Although it has it's moments of buginess and weird design choices, the feeling is INCREDIBLE. Each soldier matters with the deep customization system and each one is an indisposable part of the operation. Each soldier has a unique playstyle and purpose in the game. All in all, they matter, and when they die you feel horrible. I can't count how many times I fell back in my chair in disbelief after my best soldier was slaughtered without mercy. The only complaint I have is the science tree. Although there is a lot to do, it just feels too small. There are only three tiers of weapons and a few more of armor. I wish there were more variety to weapons and more types, maybe that had better accuracy and suffered a damage penalty or vice versa. Although this is by no means game breaking or anything like that, it is still something that I wish was just slightly better. However, that is my main complaint and the rest are very minor. Overall, this game is a great experience and you need to play it. Now.

Civilization has been a game I have played A LOT. I put well over 300 hours onto the disc version of Civilization IV and the add-ons (CD's I know :P). I also played a little bit of Civilization III before, but no where near as long. That being said, I love the Civilization franchise. It has to be one of the best turn-based strategy games ever. This game, Civilization V is no different. Although the game is good without the DLC (BNW and G&K), it is excellent with it. BNW and G&K add on new features and improve on older ones. This game is not as complex as the prior Civilization games, and therefore has a much smaller learning curve. Basically, a complete newbie to strategy games can pick this up and feel like a badass (on easy difficulties). The feeling of conquering others or diiplomatically pleasing them is just as good as ever. Overall, if anyone is on the fence of a purchase, buy it. I gurantee you will not regret this purchase, whether you are an old-time fan or a newbie.

A very deep game (a Paradox Trademark) that is, in my opinion, Paradox's best game. The character progression is incredible, the "corrupt" government feel helps the game immensly, and the diversity in the game is insane. Want to become a king? Well you can start as one or work your way up from being a count to the leader of a sprawling empire. Overall, this is a great game that provides an immense amount of options at your disposal. Whether you murder your parent to get the throne or revolt and become independent, the game delivers almost perfectly and I recommend it to anybody who likes Grand Strategy or just Strategy in general.

This game seems very complex at first, but it is very rewarding.
