The game gets some very valid criticism, but it seems a lot of unwarranted hate right now. It is a peak Bethesda game, and I have loved the almost 300 hours I have in it between Steam and Xbox. My favourite Beth game to date.

If it wasn't released against Cyberpunk 2.0 and BG3, I don't think it would get the flak it gets. Because compared to these two, yeah, it falls flat. But on its own merits, it succeeds at what it wants to be.
It is an amazing space adventure game that has some incredibly sad shortfalls. I still had a ton of fun. Shipbuilding is fantastic, even base building is fun. The quests are varied and entertaining, and the factions are distinct. Character building is deep with a ton of room for growth. The way the game is randomized every new game+ is such a great idea. It's an enormous game, and I do think it would have been better to maybe NOT do 1000 planets but maybe 100 or even just 10. It feels spread too thin. But the vastness makes me hopeful it will have a lot of space for future content and mods as well. I look forward to returning to it again and again, just like I did with Skyrim, to see where the game is at and what the mod scene is like.

I don't know why so many people say this is a chill game. It's not, it's very stressful. It looks beautiful and seems well-made, but I don't think it's cosy.

Great card game. Monetisation is whacked but it's not PTW. Season pass for 10 Bucks is reasonable and is the only purchase one should make. Yes, you won't have all the newest cards, but you do not need all. Focus on those for your deck type and you are good. Highly recommended! Even with the Spotlight Cache system.

Sadly I have to rewrite my review as the developer abandoned the software and its not really functioning right. It had great possibillity but was never realized.

OLD REVIEW
This is one of the best VTT apps I have used in the last few years and I used many. However it is not the most user friendly. I look at it from a GM perspective.

- User connection is via port forwarding direct connect, very nineties. But since Fantasy Grounds uses the same I don't mind as much. But I hope it is improved soon.
- No IpV6 Support is also an issue for many in Germany.
- The documentation is pretty much non existent besides a few YouTube videos.
- UI is alright but uneven, not unified and obtuse in many places.
- Steep learning curve if you want to create your own stuff

+ The system support in the VTT engine is incredible. It handles custom dice with ease.
+ Great Mapping features to create your own maps.
+ Comes with examples for Cthulhu, DnD 5E, Horus Heresy, Pathfinder and Edge of the Empire
+ The Character sheet editor is great for everyone who ever struggled trying to make your own in Fantasy Grounds or Roll20
+ For RPGs what Tabletop Simulator is for Board Games
+ Workshop support enables an endless system support for GMs long term
+ Players connect via browser so do not require software on their own
+ Contains dynamic FOW feature that you would have to pay a monthly subscription for in Roll20.

I personally think it should have been released as early access instead of full release out of the gate. But it is already functional and you can run games with it using the included systems. There is still a lot of polish needed to make it truly sing. But what is already there is very impressive and I am already setting up a DnD Campaign and so far took me half the time it would use in R20 with much more features available. And I don't even want to think about the time needed to do this stuff in FG, without spending money on the core rule modules in either of course. But considering the Player rules for DnD alone in Fantasy Grounds or Roll20 cost almost 30 USD the price of this software is extremely cheap. It will depend on the community to create the needed mods for popular RPGs to make this VTT shine.

Great shooter, a bit aged. Fun ideas and a good ending.

Looking great and very enjoyable gun-play. More "Matrix" the "The Old West" but great fun for a few hours. After you are done with the story once new game + becomes available for an extra challenge. And there is always the high score hunting Arcade mode if you just have a few minutes to blow off some steam. Well worth the money!

Recommended without hesitation. Strong from start to the end. It truly is a SS2 Successor. If you enjoy a game to be a bit challenging with multiple path to objectives and choices how to do them, with a small but diverse ennough RPG System this is for you. I am not sure if the differences would be great enough to warrant a second playthrough. But there is some stuff I did not do the first time so maybe I will return sooner or later. Go buy it, you wont regret it.

Propably one of the best games almost no one plays when you go by the chatter. It deserves much more attention than it is currently getting.

This is a great little RPG, do not let yourself be dissuaded by the reviews slamming the combat system. Is it a great or detailed system? No, but it is fun once you get a bit into the trees and figure out how you like to fight. I have a lot of fun dodging attacks and roasting enemies with lightning. It can get frustrating in the early stages if you stupidly run in a horde of enemies you can`t seem to defeat. But that is rare and after 2-3 attempts normally no problem. You need to learn how to dodge and vary your attacks a little.

The worldbuilding is very interesting and the place feels pretty well thought out, though not really alive. The story is intresting enough and I wanted to find out more about the protagonists past and the world of Mars. The ending was fitting and satisfying with a touch of sadness.

Biggest negative would be the back and forth running, there is A LOT of that. But it is not too bad since the levels are not huge and with sprinting it goes fast.

Overall it feels a bit rough, it is clearly not a AAA Budget game. As it is not sold as such I do not feel this makes this game worse. Spider is definetly a developer I will keep my eye on.

Just an incredible YES. Still the best RPG out there with great replayabillity and one of the most insane playthroughs ever: Malkavian. Worth it to play at least twice to experience a "normal" vampire and then the crazy that is Malkav. I so wish Obsidian would make another one of this magnificent quality! I mostly play my version from GoG hence the little playtime.

The shooting is better, but the RPG parts a lot worse. Bethesda games have been great "make your own story" simluators. You had a lot of freedom how to respond to NPC, what to say and what to do. The freedom, the biggest best feature of skyrim and earlier fallouts, to play whoever you want to be is simply gone. In favour of a meek fixed choice system and you are preloaded with a defined character. It I am very sad that this time I am not playing my charcter but the one Bethesda thought would be a good one.

It is a now an open world shooter with "better" but still not great shooting mechanics and what feels gutted character building mechanics.

Is it still a fun game? Hard to say. I spent as much time with this as I have trying to get to the point "When it gets better", it just never got there. If you are expecting the same kind of roleplaying possibillities as the older games you wont find them here. If you want a middling shooter in the fallout world, this is for you.
