This game is begging for a maybe recommendation.

Played this game during the free weekend and finished a single complete game. The game is clean - interface is intuitive, didn't encounter any game breaking bugs (only encountered a minor bug where combat would hang and the enemy would not take their turn; exiting to main menu fixed this issue 100% of the time), and the mechanics meld seamlessly with each other.

That having been said...This game is in desperate need of an in game tutorial system. The only tutorial currently is quitting to the main menu / alt-tabbing and clicking on video links to watch a particular aspect of the game be taught. It's extremely jarring and left me figuring out most of the mechanics by playing or googling things in the steam overlay instead of watching videos. Also (and this is the main reason I decided on not recommended instead of yes) - the game desperately needs some balance updates. Certain strategies (like all 100% military builds) are clearly superior, making the variety of the game a bit of a sham. Differing strategies have difficulty producing enough resources in the other categories to even get a single star each era, let alone 3.

In short, I see a lot of potential for the game but it needs some of the kinks ironed out before I would be willing to recommend this game.

Fantastic game about automation. And though the official release hasn't happened yet, it's coming soon and the game has been in a mostly finished state for a long time, but the devs are amazing perfectionists squeezing in extra content.

This game is absolutely amazing. The dev team is constantly pumping out new content, and the depth of the variation from character to character is insane. Even two characters of the same class using the same build and item setup are going to be different. If you like this style of game at all, try it out - it's completely, 100% free.
