Got this game as a gift.

It's always nice to see how little your friends think of you....

I tried to find a worse game to gift back to them, to show my "appreciation".

I failed to find one.

So I just unfriended them, and sobbed quietly in a corner for an hour.

My full playthrough with 100% achievements, on Challenge Mode took about 12 hours... game was paused quite a bit while I did other things, so playtime shown is not truly accurate.

Fun and cute match 3 game, with an interesting, if somewhat shallow, story. Not much to the story, but more than most Match 3 games have, and suitable for *most* children.

100 levels, and 2 difficulties (Casual and Challenge). Casual has no limit on moves, Challenge gives you a set number of moves, with the ability to spend coins earned in-game to buy 10 extra moves.

Power ups are interesting and fun to use, and if used well, can make a seemingly impossible level complete with ease.

Ran well on my toaster, only a few minor issues with slight hitches and audio "feedback BUZZZZZZ", during really active screens (tons of potions and power-ups all active at once, with squares popping and dropping icons at high speed). Only happened a few times, and it could have been caused by a background program like Windows Update activating while I was playing. AV updating a could also have been a cause, so not blaming the game for it. Unknown for sure what the cause was, and it was not gamebreaking.

Recommended for Match 3 enthusiasts, though I would recommend waiting for a sale. It was a fun game, but not sure if I would have been so happy if I had paid full price. (I bought at 50% off.)
(Quick edit to correct typos I didn't see when I first published this review.)

I can't believe I owned this game for so long and never played it until now. One of the more fun aRPG hack & slash games I have ever played. 9/10 only because of some odd input bugs or glitches that prevented mouse inputs at times, making me use all keyboard inputs for short periods of time. Which was bit annoying and broke the flow a bit.

First full playthrough as a REALLY tanky Berserker. Seemed like I was a bit too OP? (Played through in Normal Mode softcore). Tanked up hard, with obnoxious HP regen and signinifcant dmg reflects in gear and socketables, and made my pet a Warbests (Mittens is a little badass...), mainly because I expected to take more, or even some damage. Made it through w/o using many pots. Still haven't used 50 for the first achievement for pot quaffing. Kinda dissapointed it was so easy. Looking forward to using maps now and going into NP+. Quite possibly will do a HC run, even though I generally do not play HC in hack & slash games.

Highly recommended to anyone who hasn't played it yet. I can;t be the only one who wated so long. Can I?
Great Easter Eggs and humor in the game, made it quite fun. Ran beautifully on a true toaster, 100+ fps, which shocked me for as old as my rig is. No stutter or hitching. Only issue was the mouse input failures. Wired mouse, so no battery issues, mouse is functioning perfectly in othe games and on regular everyday PC apps. But it wasn't gambreaking, so, not that big of a deal. Just a small PITA a few times.

Just plain fun, though future builds may be done intentionally underpowered, just for more challenge. :)

Not a "must have", but a dern fun little casual puzzle game, to kill time with, and keep your brain working. A bit. Worth full price (it's an inexpensive game), definitely worth it on sale.

    {*]Escher-esque puzzles. put into 2.5D.
  • 100 levels
  • Level editor to create your own puzzles, and the ability to lay levels created by others (I haven't tried either yet, tbh, but I plan to, once I beat the vanilla game.)
  • Achievements (only 4, and not as easy to get as one might think)
  • Trading Cards- not terribly valuable for sale, but in a decent rangefor trading or for quick sales.
  • Puzzles vary in complexity. To be honest, the order they are in seems a bit random, from simple to complex, back to simple. (But considering this was a mobile game meant for phones and tablets, before it came to PC, I can see why a "break" was put in at places. The thought of all of the smashed-in-rage iPhones and iPads that not giving a break would create... :O )
  • Not too easy, but not too hard. (I am currently at 3 hours of playtime, as of this review being posted, and am stopped at Lvl 42 for a break... not being a superstar puzzle gamer, but not being a total derp either...).
  • Pleasant music, not too intrusive, and IMHO quite relaxing, allowing you to concentrate on the puzzle, while possibly relaxing you too much to pay full attention. Well played. *wink*

I can see ths as being a popular mobile distraction, something that won't disturb others around you, as you play during travels, sit in a waiting room, orrelax in a lobby. For PC, it is a nice break from games that require a ton fof clicking and more active ones that can stress you out. Nice distraction for me from doing programming work from the home office, when I need to silence the inner code-string voices. Not so distracting that I forget about everything, else- it is not a "full immersion" type of game. But distracting and relaxing enough to let me rest my thoughts a bit and gather them together again.

Nice little puzzler. Recommended for puzzle game enthusiasts, who are not prone to fits of rage. You will backtrack. You will restart a few levels. But you will probably enjoy the process. Just my take on it. Your Mileage May Vary. Widely.

Complete CRAP

I better get some decent Trading Cards to sell out of this turd.

[EDIT} My rig started trying to jump off of my desk and commit suicide, at the thought of idling this game for even one more second. Out of respect for my PC, I refnded asap.

No one should EVER subject their rig to the kind of torture and humliation running this game will cause.

First- yes it is a key activation. A key I "won" in a giveaway (key drop). I didn't expect much from the game, And the game delivered exactly what I expected. And I will advise, I am a 50 y/o woman. My 16 y/o daughter had much the same opinion of the game when I let her do a playthrough.

My first playthrough took just under 2 hours, and had the "bad ending". My 16 y/o daughter took about 1.5 hours for her playthrough, with the "good ending". The remaining play time was spent waiting for the last Trading Card to drop.

My thoughts:
  • Glad I didn't pay for this.
  • Game is not made for people my age, in spite of its setting in 1945.

Her thoughts:
  • Glad Mom didn't pay for this.
  • The "Super Detective" is more of a jerk than the boys I know in high school.
  • The "Assistant Detective" is a complete Derp.
  • "Mom, people didn't really talk like this back in the 1940's, did they? I mean, GrandPap and GrandMa didn't say stuff like this. right?
  • Glad Mom didn't pay for this.

What a middle-aged Mom and teenaged daughter agreed on:
  • Music is nice, and fits the story, but is too short of a loop to hear over and over again.
  • Nice art style.
  • Not worth full price, ever. Maybe worth it for free, or for pennies in a bundle.
  • Time frame, settings, dialogue and colloquialisms used do not match up well, making it seem very disjointed, or a "fantasy" about WWII era detectives written by a 14 year old boy.
  • Proofreading before publishing would have been a good idea, too many typos on simple words in English. Some are slightly cringeworthy.
  • Trading Cards have little to no Market Value, so if you get 3 different cards in the drops (out of a 5 card set), spend the 8¢ like I did to get the 100 Steam XP Badge. Or turn TC's into gems. Not worth buying the game for the TC's.

Usually I would give a game like this a more neutral vote, but this one just was so boring and disjointed, that I could not give it a Positive (since we have no Neutral). So it gets a Negative from me, and my daughter. 2 hours wasted out of each of our lives.

Though, it was better than watching paint dry. Barely. But I did get a nice "?" emoticon out of it.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Overall *subjective* Rating: 10/10

Keep in mind, my rating (above) is based on my experience with this game, in one, single playthrough. It is how I felt after playing the game, and your mileage may vary. Widely.

  • The artwork in this game is breathtaking. Flat out breathtaking. Very dark, very macabre, but beautifully done, throughout.
(I wish I had bought the Boxed set, with the hardcover paper art book, when I first saw this game years ago... sadly, the book is no longer available at retail from the developer, only resale, if you get lucky enough to find a good copy on Ebay or Amazon or the like.)
  • Played very well, no performance issues or bugs, even on my almost 5 year old budget build toaster. It was buttery smooth from start to finsh.
  • Music and ambient audio in the game were perfect for the game, and did not detract from immersion, rather, they made the immersion deeper for me.
  • Choices matter. REALLY matter. I will replay this game to try for all achievements, and to see how much changing just one or two choices alter the direction. I am not expecting great or drastic changes in the game, but more at the ending. But still, the game was so good, I am ready to play it again, several times if need be, just to see.
  • Check and click on everything. I mean EVERYTHING.
  • No in game map or minimap. If you do not pay attention to where ladders, stairs, ropes, paths and arrows take you, it is somewhat easy to get lost and confused. Which actually made the game better for me. No easy "fast travel". I had to take notes after getting lost many times, and going in circles. Pay attention, Take notes.
  • Unique puzzles, some fairly easy, some more complex. Many that you found and had to come back to after finding items to complete them. Click all notes in all scenes, they save solutions or hints in the Notebook that can help you solve some of the more complex ones.

I honestly did not find anything about the game that was a negative to me. Some people may be frustrated by the lack of fast travel, lack of a map, slower gameplay and pacing. But for me, they were part of the game, and felt right.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - Especially if you enjoy darkness, some mildly "heavy" thinking, and puzzle solving. I am sorry I did not buy this game sooner. And I am glad I finally did buy it. Worth full price, even more worth it if you get it on sale. Just... worth it. All around.

No. Just... NO.

Fabio, please just stop. You are hurting people with these tech demos. Physically and mentally hurting people. My head will never stop hurting from trying them, hoping you had somehow done better and fixed things this time.

I should have known better. I paid nothing, except precious time, and loads of head pain, with a few gag-in-my-mouth moments in VR. I. Really. Should. Have. Known. Better.

Yes, I got a key for this game for free. Just like I did for it's predecessor. During one of the Dev's many "Throw keys to everyone!!!" sprees in Steam, Giveaway groups.

So, why am I not recomending a free game?

Because it is a reskin on the last Heaven Forest game, same terrible tech demo. NOT a game. A terrible tech demo.
Same map, the color of the sky was changed, some of the animals went from color to grey scale, and a B & W tiger was added. Whoopie.

The animals still have horrid animation (rabbit looks like it sat on a plug and can't get it unstuck from it's rear...), animals path horribly (up sheer faces, stuck running in one place or doing small circles, etc.), You can fall though building floors and roofs (going up or down), collectables are in the exact same spots, a few are in areas you have to fidget for ages to get them to sparkle so you can collect them, flying is still broken (you may get stuck flying up but have no ability to move from left, right, back or forward, and you may not be able to do the "float down" thing, unless you manage to find an invisible wall to fly into and break the leash...), graphics are terrible, yet will heat your GPU and CPU up, no matter what settings you try, 2/3 D (2D that tries to looklike 3D and fails)...

Honestly, it is like all of his "games" They are all terribe tech demos. Trying to use some religious or philosophical messaging to make them seem interesting. It's like putting on a VR headset and being surrounded by Moonies trying to shove flowers in your face. Seems, harmess, until it happens. Then, it is a painful, horrifying, headache and nausea inducing ride you are trapped on.

No. Not worth it, Not paid, not free. Trading cards do exist, but take forever to get the 5/10 to drop, if you are lucky enough to get 5 different ones. See my hours played. That's how long. Achievements? Yeah, not too hard to get, if you can keep from vomiting (in VR or on a flat screen) while you watch the entire world pop in and despawn, pop in again, despawn, pop in again... OUCH. The TC's have little value. The achievements do not have notification pop-ups via Steam Overlay. They only unlock after you quit the game, and the Steam hook will unlock them all at the same time. So you never know how far your have progressed, and your achievement history makes it look like you are SAM's best friend, even if you aren't.

Dude, I get that you have a dream, But please. After torturing people with the Heaven series games and the equally awful Woodle Tree game... please stop. I BEG OF YOU. P{LEASE JUST STOP. :spazhorror:
