I'm not sure what ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up ♥♥♥♥ Sony demanded or offered this developer, but changing the requirements to play the game part way through is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up at best, and downright offensive at worst.

I've requested a refund. You should too.

Let's be clear. This isn't Forza, or anything like that. This game is unique, and if you come into it expecting the same kind of game that you've probably played a thousand hours of, you're going to be disappointed.

However, if you come into this game hoping to build up your own car with scavenged, purchased, and repaired parts; and then use that car to race against a group of opponents on a series of really well built and fun courses, you're going to have a fantastic experience.

There's definitely stuff I'd like to see done better, but they're still actively updating the game and improving it. Now that they have a publisher as well, I have more trust than ever in the team.

Early Access Review
Pretty Glitchy, Pretty Weird, No Tutorial, and borderline unhelpful design. This is not a game made for you. It's a game made for the developer's own enjoyment, and that's what makes it both frustrating and beautiful.

I so rarely find a game that I decide I'm going to actively play above everything else in my 600+ game collection. There's clearly passion put into this game, and while it's VERY rough around the edges, it's absolutely worth playing. It's not exactly fun, but it's more engaging than everything else I've played around this style.

The Graphics are primitive, but the brevity shown in the graphics design is intentional, and exceptional.

The Radio Stations are strange, borderline poorly voice acted, and yet I wouldn't have them any other way. It adds to the aesthetic of being in the middle of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ no-where with no-one around.

However, unless you're masochistic, check out the Guides section and discussions for some help to actually get started. If in a rush, to get started quickly, the following knowledge is basically a requirement:

- While it is possible to die in this game, it's surprisingly difficult, and flying off the edge of a cliff often is not only survivable, but easy to recover from. If you're going over the edge due to a series of poor choices, don't panic. Relax, take a deep breathe, wait for the splatter of blood all over your window, and make sure your ♥♥♥♥ didn't fly out of your boot. Check your car's fine, then drive off into the sunset.

- You need the hose. Just straight up you need it. Pick up one end and put your crosshair over the open cap of a container. Don't try to line it up, you'll just get frustrated. Any container higher than the other point will deposit it's contents into the other. This is how you refuel your car, this is how you replace components if you need to, and this is how you transfer all of your stuff to a replacement car if you find one.

- Turn off shadows and grass. It's by far the most fps-hungry aspect of the game, and I actually prefer the game without them. If you have seriously horrible FPS and you have two GPUs that aren't linked in software, disable the second one in Device Management. The game should run at 60FPS even at 4k without shadows quite easily on even mid-range hardware.

- Explore. The whole point is to experience this world. It's not necessarily the best idea to stick to the road constantly as there are plenty of interesting things away from the path. But the Road will give you progression.

Simple, Elegant, and Wonderful.

It's incredibly satisfying to create an efficient Metro system, even if the game is trying it's hardest to make your perfect system crumble under the demand. The controls are not completely explained, but five seconds of fiddling will allow you to figure it out. Other than that, everything's pretty intuitive. There's also plenty of maps available for you to work around, so there's damn near infinite replayability.

The developers did an excellent job.
