Hey,

There's no way to really know if a crash can happen but some of the mods at Nexus can tell you what can make that particular mod crash your game.

And sometimes it'll crash as a particular app will need an update and will not tell you till you try to play that game.

Also; you have never wasted my time.

Hi Joe.
Thx for your infos. I thaught there is a program or an add-on for the NMM that could possibly recognize potential "crash-mods".
I'm using NMM since my first "Skyrim" time ;-)
Also LOOT, the editor and body slide. I just misunderstood your last post so sorry that I've wasted your time. But I adapted your idea with the word-document as this might be a great help, especially if you are a freak like me who plays the games extremely modded. I've nearly over 200 mods running with my games Skyrim and FO4.

Oh, I'm both: the "learning by watching" and also the "try and fail (learning by doing)" type ;-)
Always try to take best of both worlds ^^

Thx and greetings from Germany
Frank

There's a website called Nexusmods.com . it's a big site where you can use mods on there in your game or games. When you get to the site, in the upper right hand corner you'll see "Install NMM (whatever version)" Click that. It will take you to a page telling you what the program is. And the biggie for you: Mod manager
Enable or disable the files you would like loaded in to your game through the easy to use mod management system. With that installed, you would be able to install mods into Fallout 4 and test them out one at a time. I would also have a document in Notepad or Word put the title as mod testing or something similar and then write out the names of the mods and whether or not there was a problem with it. This way you have the log just incase you have a Can't remember moment and can easily pinpoint the troublesome mod and either disable it in NMM or uninstall it. There are even videos on YouTube that show it in action too if you're more of a learn by watching kind of guy

Sorry that I haven't answered earlier. Some private issues with my mother who is seriously ill.
What exactly do you mean with "using the Nexus Mod's program to figure out which mod is the problematic one"... ?
How does that function ?
Thx and greetings from Germany

No worries, I always like to keep a list of mods I put into Fallout 3 or 4 this way if there is any problems, I can use Nexus Mod's program to figure out which mod is the problematic one and disable it

I haven't figured out why he broke my game. After installing this housing mod I started a new game. I tried to play a female char but both chars doesn't change position on the screen. The male char steps back but the female char remains on her place in the creation menu. You can alter her, start the game but if you reach Sanctuary, codsworth doesn't interact with you, the build menu is active but sanctuary doesn't show up in the pip boy menu for the workshops.
If you go to Concord, some raiders are there but Preston doesn't show on the balcony. He and the settlers are in that room on the 2nd floor behind sealed doors. So it seems that this mod breaks something in the storyline or the character menu so that the game doesn't recognize the player as "InGame"... that may be the reason why no one communicates with your player or realizes him.

Tonight I found the mod that crashed my game. After uninstalling the mod the game functions again as awaited. It was the mod

"Cybernix Home", http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/24135

Thanks for your kind and quick answer and your offer for help.
Sincerely

What mods do you have/are using? As it depended on one of the mods. It's been a while but most likely together we'll figure it out.

Hi Joe.
In 2016 you had a problem with Fallout 4.
Sanctuary Hills was missing in your workshop-list.
Now I have an nearly identical problem. Entering SH and trying to speak with Codsworth.
Nothing happens, he doesn't answer or talk with me and Sanctuary Hills is not on my
workshop list (and doesn't appear anytime later).
How did you solve your problem?
Thanks for help.
Greetings, Ice
