I've been to the US five times for a total of about 6 months. 12 states from the East coast through the mid West up to Hawaii. I have many friends who were born in the US or have moved there.

It's a great, great country with lovely people and brilliant for a holiday. But you could never convince me to live there. Murder rates are extremely high compared to nations with similar wealth, working rights are a joke, healthcare is a scam and infrastructure is also not brilliant once you consider how rich the US is. I mean I was warned not to go into certain areas in LA at night. We're talking about one of the richest nations on earth and there are areas you should avoid due to safety? That's something I expect from a poor nation, but not from the US

On a global scale, the US is very safe. But once you start comparing it to countries with similar wealth, it all starts to show that the US has some huge issues to fix.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely don't want to bash the American people. I always love visiting. But a lot of Americans I have met and talked to have this sense of "everything in the US is best, every other country is sub par" which I've only encountered in the US and nowhere else, to such an extent.

Again, I don't hate the US. Not at all. It's just that facts are facts and said facts sadly aren't good.
