About
A Battle Royale with the twist of instead of guns, you have elemental magics (Fire, Ice, Wind, Earth, Toxic, etc). The game was developed/published by Proletariat, Inc.

Shutdown
The game servers are set to shutdown on early 2023

You rarely will encounter any player. Most (if not all) matches are against bots.

Reasons that led to the shutdown
• During its launch, Spellbreak launched as an Epic exclusive title.
• Proletariat Inc. spent months without giving any updates or communication to players on the game community. Many players felt the game focused too much on microtransactions.
• Lack of new characters.
• Proletariant Inc. being bought by Blizzard and then being assigned to work on World of Warcraft new expansion.

My opinion
The idea of a Battle Royale being exclusive to the platform with the biggest Battle Royale in the world is simply unreal. The developers made many bad decisions that lend to the game slowly losing players. Many people like the game, just didn't like the decisions that were take about it. Couple that with a huge focus on microtransactions.

Spellbreak was a game that had lots of potential. It could've a sucess if it was being maintained properly even today. It still has this chance, but the studio simply gave up. With the Blizzard name, they could totally make a comeback (with the right marketing and updates that introduces new characters more regularly, while listening to what the community wants). It simply isn't the case. The game will simply die really quickly.
