A classic one, being updated 25 years later (scaled UI, returning to some original visuals, etc). Achievements could have been a nice addition to the anniversary update.

It's a fantastic immersive sim sci-fi horror game with excellent gameplay mechanics, an intriguing story, and a well-executed retro-futuristic aesthetic. The player's choices impact the game's ending, and although I haven't tried the DLC yet, it seems to add even more value to an already great game (I've read it has a rogue-like gameplay). Highly recommended!

Update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty took this game to another level. Story and designs were already awesome, but theses last updates made the whole a lot better (specially in the AI department).

Now I'm aching to see how it will improve, evolve in the second game, pity they are ditching Red Engine for Unreal Engine. Also hope the sequel don't get "westernized" too much (will be developed in USA).
Thank you, CDPR, for this masterpiece!

The proposal of this game was to be a Fallout in space, and as it was conceived by some of the original creators of Fallout (Black Isle Studios), I tried to compare it more to the original Fallouts then to Fallout New Vegas (also made by Obsidian Entertainment), although I expected some good things from FNV to make way into The Outer Worlds.
This game indeed brings more memories of the original Fallouts then the Bethesda's ones, not gameplay wise, as this one is not an isometric RPG.
It has more role playing elements than Fallout 3 & 4, but less than New Vegas and even Fallout 1 & 2. It has the dark humor that Bethesda's Fallouts lack, has companions development akin to New Vegas, but the length of Fallout 1.
One thing the Fallout games have since the first installment of the series is random encounters, and unfortunately Outer Worlds lacks this feature. It makes traversing some areas in subsequent playthroughs boring.
I liked the game, it has potential as a franchise, specially now with Microsoft funding, but the first game has some missed opportunities, sadly.

Awesome quests and storylines, nice characters, beautiful places and fun events. But unfortunately has so much bad microtransactions (very expensive items, limited time offers, etc), and loot boxes (crown crates) for a game that is not free-to-play.
You can still have a great time, join a nice guild and make some friends.

Great improvement over the first game. Looking forward to the third one (when it's available on Steam).

An improvement of the most recognizable RPG of this decade, and becomes even better with mods.
Unfortunately contains some microtransactions called "Creations".

This game became an example to the game industry on "How To Fix A Screw Up", and all done for free!
NMS still my “Labor of Love” Award nominee in 2024, and I'm looking forward to play Light No Fire!
