Early Access Review
I got this game on April 9th, 2016, within a day or so of the game being released. I had played the original GMOD Tower for over a hundred hours by meeting new people in the suites and playing my favorite gamemodes Zombie Massacre and Ultimate Chimera Hunt. I'd watch goofy videos in the movie theaters and on the TVs with friends and random people for fun. Of course, I would have never heard of GMOD Tower if it weren't for a lot of the incredible content creators of the time, like UberHaxorNova and the Asdfs (mainly BedBananas). It was a key part of my childhood, and despite knowing the servers were going to come to an end, I was excited for the new game they were making to replace it.

Tower Unite seemed great at first glance, especially before I became more weary of "Early Access" and GoFundMe/Kickstarter/Indiegogo bs. New engine, new graphics, more content than ever! GMOD Tower, which had a dying fanbase before it was inevitably shutdown, was stuck with an even more dying engine and game. This could have only been good for the GMOD Tower community. Unfortunately, that never appeared to be the case to me.

It's a shame that there are still people waiting 7+ years after its release on Steam, hoping that the community will come back in a major way. I don't mean to discredit the great interactions people have in this game now, but knowing that the developers are trying to live in GMOD Tower's shadow is depressing. I had waited patiently for years after it was greenlit on Steam for new content to attract new players and old players. New content would come, peak players would spike, then it would settle back to where it was before. I ignored this game and forgot it existed for the past three years, yet still nothing has changed. It's still just as soulless and buggy as ever. I guess you just have to learn to move on at some point.

This game is awesome, but one thing it's missing is maple syrup, lumberjacks, and crazy people. Wait, nevermind that last part, there already are crazy people!

I liked that the creators of the Portal series made a much longer, unique, and more strategic sequel. The first one was great but it was so short that you could speed run the game in 30 minutes if you knew what you were doing. But besides that, Portal 2 has much more unique characters, features, and of course a better story. So in my opinion, the money is worth buying a game like this.
