What I LIKE about Far Cry 5:
- Beautiful graphics
- Scenic map
- Realistic gun play
- Tons of new vehicles(Air, Land & Sea)
- New AI companion system that is somewhat useful because they can revive you
- New GPS system that guides you to your selected location + auto drive
- Rewards exploration quite well
What I DISLIKE about Far Cry 5:
- Skills unlock with perk points that can only be completed using challenges and it cost quite a few perk points
- Character inventory unlocks(like ammo cap and weapon holsters) are also under skills
- Animal hunting only rewards you with cash
- Med kits replace healing syringes and they aren't craft-able
- Story is quite forgettable, half the time I don't really know whats going on and I didn't cared
- Mini-map replaced with compass
- F**king microtranscations
Problems I faced:
I'm running on rtx 2060 + i7-9750H 2.6ghz laptop and it runs about 80-90fps but there are times where it dips to 60 fps.
Animals bugging in and out of the map( Occurred twice)

Notes:
FC5 feels like a Ubisoft's modern take on the FC series. Changes were made to the game's mechanics to make it feel less clonish compared to previous FC titles and despite some changes made being questionable, it feels like a breath of fresh air for the Far Cry series. It's main antagonist is no Vaas from FC3 but I always thought of him as just crazy and shot everyone that shot at me.

*This review is for the campaign played solo*

Gears 5 picks up where Gears 4 left off and I would say it fills the story void well, with a new approach to level design, quality-of-life improvements and a sense of character progression but the current performance issues/bugs that came with launch can soil the experience.

The first thing you will notice in Gears 5 is that JACK, the robot that usually sat on the side lines and did nothing in the previous games, has a active role in fire-fights but also in level design. Jack can now (on command) retrieve items like weapons/ammo/resources for the player as well as use skills that the player can attain throughout the campaign. These skills not only can be used in firefights but to solve puzzles throughout the campaign.You can upgrade JACK with components that are hidden across the campaign and special parts that can give your skills a new effect.

In Gears 5, certain ACTs have been changed to free-roam style maps instead of a linear mission where you just follow the objective. As you roam around the free-roam maps, you will notice side-missions, landmarks and secret locations that you can explore and it rewards you with components or special parts required to upgrade JACK.

Among the new gameplay features added, Gears 5 still sticks to it's root in terms of cover-based shooting . New and old weapons feel amazing to use while seeing bodies explode in a burst of blood and it never gets old. New enemies join the list of things to shoot and with a unique way of dealing with them.

HOWEVER, it's not all daisies and sunshine and I would like to address problems that i faced throughout my Gears 5 playthrough.

The side missions in the free-roam area are boring, it's mostly just a killing quest where you clear the area of enemies and move on. Despite being rewarded a special part for JACK, they just feel like chores that need to be done.

This game is littered with performance issues. Low FPS, audio problems, stuttering during gameplay, stuttering before cutscenes, stuttering after cutscenes, animation problems. Holy f*ck, it's a mess.

I have been playing PC games for a long time and I used to game on a low-end office laptop. I can tolerate the performance issues through my playthrough but I wouldn't subject anyone to this.

Overall, Gears 5 is not only an fulfilling sequel to Gears 4 but also an amazing game. However, I sadly cannot recommend this game for purchase until the performance issues have been resolved as it can really kill the experience for the player.

I've been looking for a decent game to play while waiting for other big titles to come out and I think i finally found it:
Remnant: From the Ashes, the Post-Apocalyptic/Sci-Fi Third Person shooter Dark Souls experience w/o friends.

- Loot with mods/skills that can alter your playstyle
- Fast-paced, challenging combat
- In-depth Character progression
- Enemy design with Unique mechanics
- Voice acting with sub-par lip syncing that can make you laugh
- Breath-taking atmosphere
- Rewards exploration, secret dungeons and areas
- Boss fights that are fun,memorable and fair
- Rerollable campaign for new bosses and maps
- Non-rage inducing deaths

- Map UI is quite bad
- Certain enemies attack can hit through walls
- Maps design can feel stagnant
- Loot can be difficult to find
