I've only completed four levels and I'm already in love with the way the game introduces and teaches mechanics.

Doing it so organically rewards the player for experimenting (specially with such limited actions you can take) and makes sure they don't forget what they just learned.

Very pleasant experience. I still have to complete it, but it's definitely worth checking it out, specially at this price.

When I bought this game, I though I was going to play a litlle unassuming indie game with cool movement mechanics.

I got 100% achievements on my first play, I simply couldn't stop. The game has a lot of charm and an AMAZING soundtrack, coupled with the aforementioned movement mechanics and other cool secrets, even with some personal touches. It doesn't take too long to complete, but I definitely recommend going for 100%.

I am also going to follow this dev's other games from now on, specially after finding a specific secret.

A great roguelike with an unusual premise. It might seem strange at first, but it's very easy to understand, even if you're not used to poker rules. Also, it's very easy to create ridiculous combos and scale to very high numbers!

It's also pretty addicting, and it has a demo to boot if you are unsure about it. Check it out!

PSA: CHECK YOUR DATABASE AFTER EACH GAME, IT UNLOCKS NEW MISSIONS. EVEN IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT THE STORY, SKIP THE CUTSCENES AND DON'T READ THE TEXT, BUT ADVANCE IT.

While the system for progressing the story is quite interesting, it can also be confusing, as shown by many players that neglect it at first (myself included). If you ever get this game, check your database often and check everything you get after each match, it will tell you you've unlocked some new progress in your rewards screen.

I bought this game for less than 3€. Over 100 hours played.

And the devs keep updating it... Stop, please!

Let's get this out of the way: the game is fun, specially during the early parts, and it has charm and some references. It can get really slow at the endgame, but still, a fun experience (sometimes frustrated by bugs)

However, I'm making a negative review for a couple of reasons:

-The game has pretty much been abandoned, even though some updates were planned. It still has a lot of bugs, some of which are pretty annoying and even game breaking. Multiplayer update? Yeah, that's never coming despite being hyped up. Nothing else is coming.

-The dev is an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, there is no other way to put it. When the game just came out he was spamming his game everywhere to the point of being annoying. I understand being enthusiastic about your project, but it was too much, "Forager is the best game ever!", "I love my game, buy it!", "My favourite videogame is the one I created!", and such.

But that's not the worst part, he mistreated his employees and supporters: blamed everyone except himself, got uppity about any criticisms and banned you from Discord or Steam's discussion board, threw his employees under the bus when things got bad, he also underpaid them, wanted to claim he was a "solo dev" and the list goes on.

You can search for yourself if you want to know. The dev eventually went back a few steps and claimed he was to blame, but it looked more like a PR move than anything sincere.

I regret paying for this game.

(New Game+, New Game+ 2, etc).
