Early-Access-Rezension
Highly recommended if you love shooters from the mid 2000s ala Half Life 2 and FEAR with a dash of classic Doom due to this being on gzDoom and using the classic sprite based approach to weapons and enemies. I'm currently in the Starlight bonus levels which I'm finding to be a highlight of the game in particular, but this game is everything I was hoping for when I first saw it being posted about on Twitter years ago. It might not be for everyone if you're more accustomed to modern shooters with waypoints, minimaps, compasses, and the like, but the levels are built with pretty clear signposting on where to go, I rarely got lost and even when I did I just took the opportunity to explore for secrets and other hidden goodies. The early access build right now is solid and I personally can't wait to see where it goes from here. Please give this game a chance!

If you have any amount of love or respect for horror games and you haven't already played this then you really need to buy this right now and play through it. Even if you did play this back on the gamecube or wii this is still the definitive version of the pinnacle of both the Resident Evil series and the survival horror genre itself. Also if you can't deal with tank controls you're a big gay baby and I hate you.

Although this is one of my all time favorite games. I simply cannot reccomend this version in its current state. The most noticable thing that anyone who has played this game before will notice is that there are a lot and I mean a LOT of sound effects that do not sound correct. This version also tries to run the game at 60 FPS and the game simply wasn't meant to run that fast. There needs to at least be an option to lock the framerate to 30. I'd be able to look past these flaws for the most part if the game was actually at least playable for me. Which right now it isn't. I get tons of stuttering and frame dropping when there's a lot of enemies on the screen or when certain effects (like the grenade explosion) show on screen. I realize this isn't an issue for everyone and I don't exactly have a gaming computer, but I used to run this game on an emulator for years before with no performance issues whatsoever, and from what I've noticed this problem has been affecting other people that actually have decent PCs as well. This is a 14 year old game and performance issues like this on modern computers are simply unacceptable, even if it isn't affecting everyone it's a serious issue that MANY others are having. This is just a weak port of an excellent game. If you already own it on another system, there's no reason for you to pick this up. And if you haven't played it before there's already numerous ports of it on other systems (PS2, Wii, PSP, X360). And if you want online play, the XBLA version already has that as well.
