There's nothing I can say that hasn't already been said. This is, as of now at least, simply the best VR shooter game that exists. Possibly the best VR game in general right now.

I'd say the only reason not to play this is if you can't handle dark places in VR or have a fear of creepy things like the headcrabs.

A refreshing entry in the ARPG genre that isn't afraid to shake up the formula. Most prominently - and my most favorite - they have WASD controls as an option instead of just click-to-move. My mouse hand has never been so relieved.

Beyond that, it features a mechanically interesting weapons system that encourages weapon-swapping far more than most other ARPGs and helps shake up strategies. The skills system is a nicely refined set that eschews the typical skill bloat that most other ARPGs end up with where you have 8 or 9 hotkeys to juggle. It has verticality in the movement set with jumping and wall-jumping that adds a really cool level of depth and feel to maps. It also has some really cool QOL tidbits such as a breadcrumb-like graphic on the minimap that will show you where you've recently walked so you don't get lost.

Is it the best ARPG? I'd say certainly not. What it does have going for it is a refreshing twist on the formula that I wish other ARPG developers would take note of for future titles. WASD controls are a godsend and I can't fathom why other developers can't seem to figure it out.

So if, like me, you're a fan of the genre that's worn out by the tired tropes and similarities that weigh down the big titles like Diablo and Path of Exile, then this is well worth the investment to get a nice change of pace. But if you're of the sort that think changing a formula is taboo... look elsewhere.

One of the best "Survival crafting" games I've played - and I've played quite a few.

Combat feels really good with a nice mix of playstyles available. The progression of materials/gear is really well thought out - it's not so complex that it requires you to constantly look up everything in a wiki, but also not so simple as to be boring. It's also very aesthetically pleasing and does an amazing job of making procedural generation look natural. Most importantly, it gates certain levels of progress behind boss fights, and those boss fights are incredible; great visual design, great soundtrack, and really cool movesets that look and feel powerful.

I could go on... but I'd rather spend that time playing it!

This game understands how to create a tense environment and presents it in a way that's both fun and satisfying. The gameplay aspect is fleshed out enough to have engaging mechanical elements, but not so cumbersome to detract from the feel of investigating the supernatural.

10/10 would get spooked again

A great top-down combat game that's just the right mix of fast-paced and strategic. It doesn't punish you for taking your time to think out your steps, but at the same time running in headlong and fighting everything you see is also perfectly valid. The class system is diverse enough to make interesting gameplay decisions from round to round, while retaining enough of the core mechanics between characters that it's not entirely foreign every time you change characters.

Much like most other AAA titles in recent years, this game has a number of launch day bugs. The vast majority of them are inconsequential and even humorous, such as NPCs T-Posing or cars spawning halfway in the floor. Frankly, I love some funny glitches in a game, so these don't bother me in the slightest. Some people may experience more bugs than I have, and some of those bugs may even be progress-blocking; all I can say to that is that this game is significantly more stable and playable than any Bethesda release in the last 15 years... If it's really causing problems then it might be good to wait a few days for a patch.

Looking beyond the bugs; Cyberpunk 2077 is a marvel of storytelling in an open world setting. Most other open world story-driven games in a similar vein like GTA and Fallout will have massive, sprawling maps with basically nothing but filler in between the interesting story spots. Cyberpunk takes it to a new level by somehow combining that large scale map concept with densely packed points of interest and side quests. You get beautifully written main quests with compelling dialogue AND plenty of compelling side jobs to fill in the spaces between. My favorite part about this aspect is that the side quests are not just generic fetch quest fodder to fill your time either - there are two general categories of side quest that I'll call Emergent and Story-Driven.

Emergent side jobs eschew all the pretense of speaking to a quest giver and wading through filler dialogue, choosing instead to just present you with a situation playing out right in front of you, and you get to decide if you want to intervene and how on the fly. These are the standard, semi-repetitive jobs you'll get in most open world games, but with the distinctly refreshing advantage of not bothering to waste your time walking back and forth to a quest giver. Not only that, they take full advantage of the varied terrain in Night City, so no two Emergent side jobs will be exactly the same.

Story-Driven side-quests are a cut above the rest. These are quests that are clearly not part of the main story progression and are ultimately optional content, as you would expect from a traditional side quest. But despite that, they each have their own narrative and micro story progression. These aren't bog-standard "go loot this dungeon and come back" quests that are cookie-cutter repeats with different macguffins to fetch, but rather these are their own carefully crafted mini-stories that feel unique from each other and add an incredible level of detail to the Worldbuilding.

On that note, the Worldbuilding stands out above the rest of this game's accomplishments. It's not just a pretty city with some modern sensibilities slapped onto it. It has its own culture and ecosystem - unique slang that not only adds to the atmosphere of the game but also provides useful shorthands for terms and concepts, disparate factions that present uniquely identifiable affiliations without simply being about ethnic or economic background, and plenty of believable advertising and propaganda.

Cyberpunk 2077 is well worth the money, and well worth the time. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's the best game of its genre... but it's darn close.

A visually stunning VR title that incorporates many, many VR-unique mechanics in interesting and compelling ways. This game is an innovation leader, and I expect to see many future VR titles that are inspired by this one.

A quite robust option for viewing any media you want in VR. You can set it to look like you're in various living rooms, home theaters, cinema rooms, or even just floating in space. I use it to just watch movies and make it feel like I'm seeing them in theaters.

I would also use it to play non-VR games on a massive virtual screen, except for some reason Steam always closes Bigscreen if you try to launch another game.

I'd say if I had any single complaint about Bigscreen itself, it's that there's no apparent way to set a default home room. But it's so easy to just change rooms after loading in that its barely a problem.

One of the best free VR titles I've played. I've seen full price VR titles that feel less complete than this game.

You don't have to worry about any kind of locomotion sickness - you never move from the spot you start in. I definitely recommend having plenty of space to turn around, though, or at least crank up the turn speed for joystick turning because you'll feel like you need to look behind you almost constantly.

I will say if I had any complaints, it's the melee aspect - the hit detection is a bit rough and the enemy heads are really close to your face when they get into melee range, so it's really easy to accidentally hit your HMD.

Nabbed it in the Humble Bundle, and I'm pretty satisfied with it. It's not anything to write home about, and the level/enemy design feels fairly bland, but it's good for what it is. I probably wouldn't buy it for full price by any means, though.
