Early Access Review
2023/09/13
1. Still no FOV setting/slider (nauseating gameplay ahead).
2. Lowest sensitivity setting/value is still way too high (how do you expect me to cap infantry units when the aim keeps getting all over the place).

3. Exclusive Fullscreen mode no longer forces itself upon every time the game boots up (congratulations for doing the bare minimum every other game solved before it was even released).

4. Intro still plays and while skippable, doesn't make sense to keep playing every time the game boots up.

5. Specific UI elements still respond to keyboard input only, someone, someone please replace the current designer with someone who actually has keyboard AND mouse input in mind.

Besides these still ongoing issues, a new one has developed where the devs have now blocked access to the discussions section preventing people from voicing their own issues and concerns regarding this game, if anything they may as well be on par with bethesda in regards to deflecting and blocking criticism, accountability, and responsibility, as they promote a dev log on their site about how you should be more excited over an upcoming mech with weapons you can pay with real premium currency for, that's where your excitement should be at!

As of 05/17/2023 @ 10:44 AM:
This game is not exactly "playable" for a variety of reasons.
1. No FOV setting/"slider" (Poppy Playtime and Scorn have one btw).
2. Mouse sensitivity is extremely high regardless of your setting (including editing the config file).
3. Always forces itself into "Exclusive Fullscreen" mode regardless of your setting (Borderless Windowed users like myself be damned).
4. Forced/Unskippable mandatory game intro every time it launches.
5. UI doesn't work with the mouse most of the time forcing you to use keyboard prompts instead (more than likely designed by a "console first" programmer despite the title being on *****PC*****.

Outside of these cases the game works "fine" otherwise but it's not relieving to witness how monetization was taken into priority of working first as opposed to the game itself.
OG Hawken PC players such as myself will probably be waiting for a long time until it gets better, or the IP goes under (again).

The devs/pubs "seem" to have a habit of making changes and updates no one asked for (see: war thunder), here in this review I will list several from if not few of many issues this game has including problems that still persist in the game to this day.

1. Disabled the "Enter" key from crafting and purchasing resources in the market thus forcing you to manually use your mouse just to confirm anything you want forcing you to waste your time (and artificially inflate playtime for devs to brag about to their warmongering investors/shareholders).

2. The "lunatics" faction not only has been buffed (thus taking even longer just to kill them for no reason) in raids but now have a suicide bomber that takes over 2 minutes to cap out one of their wheels before somehow making it to you to take out either your treads or wheels with ease thus forcing you to become immobile much easier (especially during the first wave no less) or spontaneously destroy your weapons in an instant making you defenseless against the enemies.

3. Resource drop rates and values have been significantly decreased (again) as a means to "promote" the player into purchasing a premium subscription for a chance at acquiring additional resources despite having a resource cap limit (yes this is still a thing).

4. Hover units, I literally don't even need to explain this one considering how overpowered and "P2W" they are in general, you can find them in as early as even in the 5k power score league, it's more than likely they will NEVER nerf this considering it's one of the many items in the game they profit from.

5. Other factions such as the "founders" and the "syndicate" are still inaccessible and in order to obtain (or craft) their parts you'd need to be willing to deal with the paywall the game has in order to be able to access it, this however doesn't stop other players from being able to use it to have an unfair advantage against you.

6. The "community" behind this game for some reason has not only over time become so complicit that the devs and/or publishers will do nothing to improve this game but players also somehow convinced themselves that it is "not P2W" despite giving you the literal option to purchase weapons and cabins with IRL currency, this toxic relationship has done nothing but damage the games industry even further creating a line of complicit individuals and groups under the authority of overbearing capitalism, but to them this is not such as issue as long as the salivate the next time-limited season pass that still awards them by only drip-feeding them content.

7. EAC, as I make this update, EAC itself has already caused 7 CTD cases to my computer, but the devs/pubs will not care about this for as long as they are paid to keep this rootkit malware in place (yes, EAC for some reason requires kernel-level access to your computer, and still doesn't stop the real cheaters in the game).

8. Daily fuel replenishment, regardless of the outcome even if the game has a random connection issue forcing you to DC from the raid no matter how seamless your Internet connection is, the game still punishes you and removes the fuel from your account counting it as a "intentional disconnect" despite it not being your intention.

It's unfortunate really, the kind of potential this game has sadly being handled by manipulative devs and publishers who assure themselves they have no reason to improve this game for as long as the simps of their own community keep paying them even when they keep making changes no one asked for even in their own circle.

But I'm not expecting much from people who live in a country that threw a fit over another country unrelated to them declaring independence, so until their land turns into simmering ash being gracefully blown away by the wind, I share no such remorse nor mourn for these pigs.

♥♥♥♥ this game.

(04/09/2023)
Upon the game having server issues (which happens often) including raids causing random disconnects still forces you to lose your fuel, not great especially if said fuel resource is only replenished on a daily basis, since then devs never bothered to fix this nor compensate players for being forced to lose said fuel in the first place despite still actively participating in the raid before (intentional) server issues occur.

(03/31/2023)
Dev logic for this game during raids is spawning you where the boss and the rest of the enemies are during a boss fight forcing you to waste your extra lives/repair kits because you have no chance of fighting against them as you're already being spawn camped.

No excuse for this incompetency when you've been working on the game industry for this long.

Connection issues, laggy gameplay, audio stutter, store being more functional than the game itself (just like Callisto Protocol isn't that interesting), Monster player being way too overpowered (Not even a 2-3 second cooldown/invisibility between player hits).

Surprisingly this game has been less functional than the single player series I've ran this game on (GTX 970m 3GB model).

It just works, wonder if they'll utilize custom transparent .pngs and/or .gifs though.

If you are the average tiktok user clinically diagnosed with a 2 second attention span that needs a constant dopamine rush expecting to dolphin dive into every room like it's your generic fps multiplayer game, this game is not for you.
If you are expecting to be told a story but play games like dark souls, play that instead.
If you don't have time or patience, this game is not for you.

This game is moreso designed for a particular kind of folk who don't mind investing to the themes of exploration, strategizing, puzzles, and speculation, if you enjoyed your adventures with games such as Myst, but have also wondered what such a related genre would be like in a more 3D space with movement, this may peak your interest.

Scorn developed by Ebb, published by Kepler Interactive, brings you into a completely alien world with themes of wonder and theories, to the right kind of person you will often find yourself exploring all kinds of spaces gazing at while dreadful but gorgeous vistas that make even for great kinds of wallpapers, all kinds of visual astonishment which is a benefit to you should you be the more observant kind of folk.

And while the world itself is quite alien and mysterious left for the player to wonder where exactly they are, it also has it's own hostile presence encouraging you to plan ahead before you go to the next room, 'lest you fall for an ambush and meet such an untimely death by abominations of varying kinds, unless you are nimble and know your path well.

The game is not very much suited for your generic "battle royale player" as it wants to present itself more with art and pacing, and even the sounds play this into quite a major role, often wondering what exactly did happen on such a world.

Having backed the project personally from the highest tier possible through kickstarter, Scorn has provided me with an experience not quite common to a lot of other games, and while the puzzles are initially challenging, once you see the pattern it would never be too long until it's a thing of a past and you head out to discover more terrifying but gorgeous scenery.

As other subhumans find alarming distaste to this title with their poor and often low quality standards for video games as they purchase the next "battle pass" and wonder why greedy corporations continue to exploit them and their vulnerabilities, being the "whales" they typically are, I am still proud and happy to at least witness the product that the developers have managed to bring on and forth to present, a gift still brewing through significant time at which several points many thought it would never come to a release.

I have, at least by personal experience have enjoyed Scorn, and if you like games that encourage exploration and discovery such as Myst though add with a little form of combat, I am certain you would not mind taking a gander at this alien world, witnessing a completely different and bizarre kind of past civilization.

While I would generally express my own experience with such novelty games, in this instance I feel like that would end up spoiling the experience as it's best played personally and preferably without any spoilers of any sort.

I can however say this much, some things have certainly changed, but if you enjoyed the 2013 experience, you'll have even more here, hell I've spent about 2 days and a half playing this.

Once again another masterpiece developed by the talented folks at MOB Games.
Usually I'm not the kind of person who's all too fond of jumpscares but this chapter similar to the first made me wary of the dark to which I haven't had such a feeling ever since the first time I've played Dead Space 2.

So not only do you get to explore even further in the universe this game has to offer, a lot more story has been provided as well as several new threats to counter lest you face a terrible demise.

But in addition to that, new puzzles are introduced with an update to your previously existing mechanics with the grab pack and while short-lived at some points challenge your mind to form new strategies and ideas to solve them.
You also have new forms of collectibles to come across besides just the VHS tapes that before depth into the game's universe's lore as to what may exactly be going on in this derelict but all the same strange and suspicious facility.

And after you've come to the end of all, much like the first chapter you are also left wanting for more with great interest as to what may happen next alongside other mysteries involved with the game's general story.

Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 just like the first, has once again provided a unique next-gen horror experience like no other and I genuinely anticipate for more with much excitement and interest.

Has great potential, sets the grounds for a new universe set on a big story around mystery, horror, and less-than-legal activities from what appears to be a two-faced company.

Oh and makes great use of the slappy sticky hands with puzzles as a new game mechanic.

After updating the drivers for my video card (Thank you Nvidia, according to SysReq it was 2 months out of date) the game runs smoothly and in a playable manner.

Also yes the game is fun don't let the playstation fanboys tell you otherwise.

(Old)
I need to get a new video card.

I can't run this on a (3GB) GTX 970m.

Imagine being an advocate who supports taking away basic rights for women while supporting rape at the same time.

You know who that is? The CEO of this company, who still refuses you to disable view bobbing seeing as they have a fetish for people barfing, and now at his disgusting support for innocent women being violated against their will.
