Gods entwined with mortal men and women. All under the gauze of rain. The somber tone of the pitter patter of rain. A drizzle. A soft and forgiving storm, calming and welcoming. A rainstorm. A harsh, but manageable barrage of water. A monsoon. The true test of rain, powerful and unforgiving. As those immature gods danced their dance of spite, and tested each other's patience, mortals intervened. They flew their curiosity too close, and paid a gruesome price. As the soul-full savior ran ruin upon the mortal vessel, the humans lost all they had brought. Their tomes and ammo, their goat hooves and teddy bears, all lost to the great false planet. Parasitic tar, flame powered masks, beetle empires, and crabs from another plane. No one was safe, very little survived. And once that vessel fell to the earth below, there happened to be a chance of a storm. A storm of unparalleled strength and fear. A storm brewing, since the betrayal of a brother. A storm of blood, and of pain. There happened to be a risk of rain.

TLDR, its one of the best games of the year.

Amazing gameplay-
Now i've got a bit of bias cause I love rougelike/light games, but it is one of the best rougelike/light's ive ever played. The combat is really smooth, with most weapons. The graphics are a delight to look at. And the soundtrack...so good man, so good. Listen to some songs from the court musician when you unlock him, so good. Usually its that you unlock more things the more you play. And its the same here, but you also get more story every, single, time you die. More weapons, more upgrades, more dialog. Speaking about dialog.
Voiceacting-
everything is voice-acted. EVERYTHING. Every line of dialog, every spoken word from a character, no matter how long the speech is. And one of the best things, you can skip em. You aren't forced to listen to dialog if you dont want to. Some games put you in cut-scenes you cant skip, not this one. The voices fit the characters perfectly, and are never a pain to listen to. OO! The design!
The Design!-
Where to start, where to start. The astetic of the underworld is wonderful, and each layer of hell looks more and more like you are aproaching the surface. The characters are amazing, not only as characters, but as designs. No two characters look the same, and everything about them is different. The only two that are similar are Hades and Zagreous, but their father and son so. yeah.
The Characters-
One word, unforgetable. They all have somthing to remember them by. Skelly being a "numbskull" heh. Chill, and a best bud. Dusa, a shy workaholic that has goo goo eyes for Zagreous. Even the dog Cerberous cont get outa my head. You will almost never be bored talkin to one. Maybe Thanatos, but that might just be me.

Overall, shoulda won game of the year. Nah just a personal opinion, But it really is one of the greatest games of the year.

A great game with many possibilities. It does have many flaws, but they can be looked past. I had ranted before about how modding the game in a way that had not effected it was dumb, which i stand by, but it turns out that if you defeat one of the end game bosses once mods will be allowed. Its is an achievement hunter type game. If you want to 100% this game, good luck. You must get all of the achievements in 3 separate save files in order to 100% the game. This is what i am doing now, and I've never had more fun in this game before.

The main game is a great experience, but the game's story is nothing to call good. It feels as if the game was unfinished. The DLCs would give a greater story. But the DLCs are also not the greatest. The game is worth a play, but I would also stay clear of the DLC if its not in your best interest. My opinion may also be a tad scewed, because I have gotten the game for a very reduced price. So, take my opinion with a grain of salt. Thank you for reading!
