My points system:
+ = good, ++ = really good, +++ = excellent
- = bad, -- = worse, --- = horrific

POSITIVES:

++ Breast Slider (good character creator).

+ Solid RPG leveling and "crafting" (weapon enhancing) system.

+++ STORY SPOILER: The moment where Itsuki becomes the villain and resets your game was really surprising, well done and delivered with a good pay off.

++ The Kirito story line is short but pretty similar to the anime.

+ Solid, but not particularly good gunplay.

+ The cutscenes look good.

+ There is a Waifu for everyone, even girls because you can create your own “pet”.

+ There are multiple endings.

NEGATIVES:

-- As so often with Bandai Namco games, the performance is really bad for what visuals are delivered, meaning with max settings and resolution 3840x2160 I had stable 60 fps within borderless windowed but to fix the bug with 2 Monitors I had to go to full screen and my fps dropped magically by 10 to 20fps. (My PC Setup is written below.)

--- I played through the whole game with keyboard controls, and you can believe me when I say oh god they are bad. First, if you have 2 monitors (within borderless windowed) you can glitch out of the game and have you character shoot uncontrolled with no intention of stopping, Second you press TAB to switch between your skills and gadgets, you press y to activate/deactivate the aim assist, 7 and 9 to rotate models p and o to zoom in and out when you want to look at them, 7 9 I and O or so to go up, down, left and right when you are looking at the map, your mouse is extremely fast while aiming and last but not least you can’t turn off the auto aiming which is made for the controller.

- Something between bad and meh graphics, the only really good thing about them is the art design of characters and some shots of the city, nothing really special though.

-- The Team AI is sometimes utter trash, sometimes they won't revive you (even if you prioritize healing and reviving) but rather ran into a new enemy.

--- Two enemy types which can kill you with one shot which you can't escape from because you need to get through that area to progress with the story. Enemy Type Spoilers: Those damn Optimus Prime Angels and that fu*-!ng final boss GM, hitting me every time with them cutscenes.

- The enemy design is pretty plain and simple, there are either humans (AI pvp players), mecha (robots duh) or other "lifeforms" ( scorpions, bees etc.) that means within the first 6 to 12 hours of the game, you will already have seen pretty much 85 to 95% of all enemies that exist.

-- The game is and gets really repetitive, sometimes I asked myself why I'm still playing only to find the answer: for the story, not for the gameplay.

- Pretty mediocre uninspiring story, which is basically (WARNING BASICALLY I'll SPOIL THE WHOLE PLOT): You are a newbie to a virtual reality shooter game (Gun Gale Online), because your long lost childhood friend has invited you to play with her to finally see you again. Surprise surprise! You got invited because you actually are REALLY good and lucky within all video games (which is mentioned from time to time again), so you get that "custom-special-house-pet-servant-AI" within your first dungeon raid, everybody envies you because it's really new and super rare, you make friends with pro players, later you become a pro player yourself, one of your friends betrays you, kills a friend of yours and all because of the typical Kayaba Akihoko "because duh moment" explanation. One thing though they really fitted the story well within the anime.

--- BANDAI SCAMCO Entertainment pre-order practises with “extra free content” this is insulting guys, I think you all will be able to agree with me on this one.

Conclusion:
I actually somewhat liked this game, sure it’s not great or not even really good but It’s no AAA quality and budget title and I somehow still enjoyed engaging with the other characters, anyway for a 50€ and/or $ price I wouldn’t recommend you buying Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, because if you are not a hardcore SAO fan or an anime fan in general you will most likely think of it as wasted money. In a Steam Sale? (Let’s say around 15 to 25€ or $) Sure I’d recommend that more.

My PC:
Motherboard - MSI Z170A GAMING PRO CARBON
CPU - Intel Core i5-6600K running between 4.5 and 4.8GHz
Graphics Card - GTX 1080Ti (Asus OC)
HDD/SSD Drives - WD Blue 500GB/Samsung 850 Pro 1TB
Ram - Corsair Dominator DDR4 3000MHz 2x8GB

And now excuse me while I will go and slay some more bosses.

Alright, ugly, let me teach you why they call me the legendary- F*CK!

Just to add to your spoilers, your friend dosnt have to die if you can kill GM quick enough, its actualy a requirement for the true ending. (but you probably already knew that) Apart from that I can agree with the controls, the design and gameplay being somewhat lazy. But I still find myself enjoying it and the story regardless. I find GGO way more interesting then another sword and magic world, thats pretty tired and boring. Also playing some one other then kirito is a big plus to me, instead of just creating a character that you cant play like Alphiem or just customising kirito to look different.

Excellent review. I am a SAO fan but this game looks pretty lazy in design and the very limited time they took on controls and graphics....I got all this BEFORE i read your reveiw just from looking at the steam page videos.

Any chance you can recommend a decent SAO game (if you are a fan)?

@♡MephistoGinger Can you tell me how you deactivated the in-game fps lock of 30 or 60fps? Because there is no such option in the menus. So i'd like to know how you get those 200+fps without changing the games folders/data on your system.
Suther 28 Thg02, 2018 @ 11:13am
@nexttimeornot I know (keyboard key) X is there to deactivate the aim assist feature, however the real in-game aim assist function (primarily for controllers) cannot be deactivated for the mouse in the games menus to my knowledge.

I shared my Userbenchmark below my PC specs to prevent exactly such statements, the game has some issues for me with fullscreen fps (espacially while cutscenes are playing) but the overall fps without that bug, are pretty much stable at 60 (as I mentioned). Other people with espacially with mid- to "low"-end graphic cards however already stated multiple times that the game isn't running that well for them (which honestly it should).

So here for you: http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/4075760

("low"-end because the minimum: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 660 2 GB = ~150€)

@Mansque Sorry, (until now) I didn't play Hollow Realization, so I can't really answer that question.
nexttimeornot 28 Thg02, 2018 @ 5:03am
You seriosly couldnt find out how to turn off aim assits. Also stop complaning about fps, you are just one of those people that are like ahh my pc is the best i can run anything make. Reality specs are trash.
