Early Access Review
This game is a perfect example of what happens when a dev team makes a really good game and then decides to get greedy and make a freemium sequel. In order to get any characters except for the first 4, you have to log in a solid 20+ hours across several days to get the currency you need for them from daily missions, or simply do what they want and buy premium currency. Along with that, the daily missions suck ass. You'd expect things like "deal x amount of damage within 10 seconds in a match" or "kill x enemies with y character" but nope, the only daily missions are "beat x maps of this theme" It's utterly stupid. On top of that, in the first dungeon defenders game, it actually mattered that you leveled each character up, got good equipment, and played your towers correctly. Now none of that really matters. All of your characters level up together now, which makes leveling up completely pointless at all. And then to actually do anything you have to "level up further" through ascension which is actually completely stupid. On top of that, the level cap for you and items is 50 (although I've never seen an item above lvl 46), and in order for any equipment to do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it needs to be upgraded, and all new equipment starts from 0. This game is an absolutely piss poor sequel to the first game, which was actually really good. Now, it's just a greedy company trying to get money.

Oh, and one last note: the devs don't know how to balance for ♥♥♥♥, and the game is absolutely FILLED with bugs and optimized horribly. I shouldn't be teleporting across my PRIVATE TAVERN when I'm BY MYSELF. Having lag when playing alone is horrendous. Oh, and the dev teams attitude towards patches sucks too. They literally will say "we know x bug exists, but we'll address that in the next patch." That's a piss poor attitude towards the literal stability of the game.

Last thing I want to mention: the campaign is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ easy and doesn't require all the extra ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I mentioned earlier. The campaign doesn't need you to upgrade your equipment 30+ levels to do anything, and it's easy enough to where the "balance" the devs try to make doesn't hurt you. The campaign itself is fun. Really fun. And it's worth going through some lag to play. I'd give the campaign experience an 8/10. The problem is that the campaign is like 15% of the game itself, where the rest of it is post game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that requires ungodly ammounts of grinding. If you're interested in this game at all, then I definitely recommend trying it and playing the campaign, because it's worth it. After that though, just stop and play something else, because there's nothing after the campaign worth trying to do.
