You can only drive through the desert and repeat the same stuff over and over for so long until it ceases to be fun. If you love Mad Max and see it on sale, I suggest give it a try. Otherwise, I am very split on the game. The environments look nice, and have no doubt been created with great care, even if the palette of assets used stays the same.

Driving through a barren wasteland grinding resources from destroying enemy outposts and freeing territory for people who seemingly couldn't care less really is all you do here. Whenever you liberate an outpost, all you get is a few resources and four to five mute NPCs doing idle animations at the entrance. There is no actual sense of achievement here.

It's all centered around the car you slowly build up from scratch, which is pretty nice and makes sense as you spend 60-70% of your playtime in said car. Seeing it become a fast killing machine over time is pretty rewarding. I recommend you to turn on some fitting music while driving around for added enjoyment. However, that's as much depth as the game will offer you, as even then the car really is just a means to progress the mediocre gameplay loop. The story is forgettable and so are most characters you will meet.

Ronimo (the developer) preferred to let this popular and much praised game go to ♥♥♥♥ so they could instead focus on their strategy sidescroller that looks and feels more like a flashgame than anything else.
They abandoned Awesomenauts, their most popular game, in 2018 and instead of updating it or doing anything with the great lore or fun visual style decided to ditch it for other projects, which at worst nobody cares about (even after promoting the ♥♥♥♥ out of it with Awesomenauts) or just were not that great, according to reviews.

So, in 2022 and out of no fault of its own, Awesomenauts was shut down entirely, due to the mind bogglingly stupid business decisions behind the scenes. Ronimo had success and a big audience at their feet but seemingly had no interest in taking it. I have never seen a developer so blatantly throw away so much established potential. Shame on you, Ronimo.

A timeless classic that can still provide a good time to those who don't mind the dated graphics. Runs on virtually everything, is about 80-90% off every sale and since it was free a little while ago anyone interested in it probably owns it already. If you should not own it, I recommend getting it. If for nothing else, get it for the sake owning an important piece of gaming history.

The game looks prettier now but it has pretty much regressed in every other respect from a player's perspective.
While initially very happy with the update (“Oh look how shiny everything is!“), most of the community has had their opinions soured in the recent months. Lack of content, little communication, worsened cheater situation as well as a decline in the skins economy have provided a very rough awekening for most CS players with the new update. As the excitement for the shiny graphics slowly wained, realization hit the playerbase and Valve completely failed to use any momentum.

But it all started off so well! We were all more than excited when CS2 was announced. The new maps in the teaser looked stunning. Source 2 was certainly showing off its lighting and ambience and everybody loved it. Play testing started shortly after - sure gameplay was rough around the edges but Valve will fix this soon, right?.. Right? Not all the maps and gamemodes are available yet, but... soon. You know, Valve takes their time. For sure they'll add new content too, maybe a new operation even. Perhaps that's why we haven't gotten one in so long.

Not quite, hindsight tells me. In exactly two months Valve since release of CS2 things look rather depressing. Not overly so, mind you. There are maps, yes. You can play them, yes. You can still shoot people in semi-usual cs fashion, yes. The maps in-game look very pretty, yes. But that's it. The gameplay still isn't exactly fixed. Movement feels funny, aiming feels different and there is still some weirdness going on with the tick system. In fact, there are still many issues that still wait to be solved. No other maps have been added since launch. There certainly hasn't been a new operation. Anti-cheat still sucks except it still misses the popular Overwatch feature, which gave it at least some use.

And worst of all, the community is entirely left in the dark on what Valve is doing. They will probably fix the gameplay, that is fair to assume. But beyond that? They'll probably add back a map or two at least but which maps, when or how this will look is entirely unknown. God knows if there will be an operation in the near future, god knows if there will be one within the next year.

This might all be excusable if we were talking about a small indie developer with a rented downtown office and six passionate people working around the clock, surviving on pizza deliveries and diet coke alone. But that's not the case. Valve is a 300-strong company with a near never-ending source of money. How you can fumble the bag so badly as a company that prides itself on more than 20 years of game development history and an impressive record of creating timeless works of art is incomprehensible.

The status quo of this game and the lack of any updates is inexcusable. It is impossible for me to recommend the game in its current state.

-> Riot announces TFT (autochess) for League of Legends
-> Valve manages to clobber this together in short time (to release before TFT)
-> Pretty equal to TFT at launch
-> Everyone hyped for more content
-> Valve proceeds to never update or mention Underlords ever again

For crying out loud, Valve, we were so close

I appreciate that Innersloth is still keeping this game running and updated even beyond it just being a meme, as it's still a fun time with friends.
Solid, simple gameplay, runs well on most computers and is relatively free of bugs.
I recommend.

Laughing at this took longer than the installation.

Very worthwhile.

I recommend.

It's a sweet jump and run game. Quick to install, cute artstyle and challenging gameplay inspired by a Slovak folk heroe's tale. You might as well just get it before you read any longer reviews. Enjoy!

World of Warships
is a game about ships and how to make them blow up properly, or else, have your own ship blown to smithereens and turned into a neat diving attraction. You get to choose between a big selection of ships divided into several interesting nations which all have (more or less) nifty strategies on how to quickly and brutally disassemble enemy warships. That's pretty much the gist of it. Now, why is it worth being recommended?

Simply put, it's pretty fun if you are into nicely-animated and designed ships fighting each other in teams. The game performs well, looks good and you quickly get into a match. Adding to that, there is also always some kind of event going on with a ship or anything else valuable being up for grabs if you have the stomach to play the game as if it was a part-time job. Even if you aren't interested in such events the game is still offering a wide variety of ships and enough space in your harbor to try a big plate of playstyles and keep you from getting bored too quickly. Not like boredom would quickly become a problem, as the battles you play are often quite tense and at the end of a battle there's hardly anything more satisfying than seeing the point counter fill up or the last enemy being hunted down, as you proudly glance at the vast amount of damage you've caused along with several neat ribbons on the top right screen to commemorate all the shells you've hit, fires you've laid and, most importantly, ships you've sunk while enjoying the surroundings and your charred ship on its' last few hitpoints, knowing you've done well.

However, unexpectedly, not everything is all sunshine and rainbows in the world of warships. There are a few issues in the game as, for instance, it'll take a bit of time to get into the game properly and get a grasp on why certain shells do more damage to certain ships and things like that. This isn't in the least helped by seal-clubbers at the lower ranks who take questionable pride in sinking a bunch of new players after having played hundreds of hours themselves, making the learning experience needlessly frustrating for few. Balance is also an eternal issue, although I'd say that it has overall improved and will, as I hope, keep getting better.

To finalize; If you have the disk space to spare and a somewhat decent PC as well as an interest in making ships explode, chances are, you'll have a good few hours of fun with this game and maybe even a few more.

Homefront is a game much like a generic blockbuster action movie. It's fun for an evening or a boring afternoon but hardly more than that, as it doesn't do anything unique or special.

(a snippet of the) Story:
America is occupied by North Korea and you, as a former helicopter pilot of the U.S. Marines, are taken captive together with other former pilots to be forced to serve the Koreans. As the bus drives you and the other (, assumed to be,) pilots to a re-education camp you witness the Korean army executing civilians in the bleak and dystopian city which is really stupid if the Koreans plan to indoctrinate you for service in their own army, but who cares . Before you are able to properly comprehend what is even going on, your bus gets hit and turned on the side, killing or injuring most inhabitants of the bus. At this point, Connor, an unlikable brainlet of a man and (of course) also a former marine, and Rianna, a female with no character worth mentioning, introduce themselves. They rammed the bus to extract a former helicopter pilot to use for their resistance cell.

Ramming a bus full of people, hoping one of them survives without major injuries and alerting the entire city in the progress is such an incomprehensively stupid idea, that it actually ends up working. Those are about the first 10-20 minutes of the game and the rest of the singleplayer consists of you and your new bunch of friends wreaking havoc on the Koreans in a bunch of overall decently done missions.

The only thing that I found to be really lacking was that more could have been done with the setting. We never get to see American collaborators and the Koreans don't do anything to stand out from the average bad guys. It would have been nice to see them actually attempt to get the people on their side instead of just acting like generic villains or have them put up their own architecture, spread their language and culture.

Gameplay:
The gameplay is honestly what you'd expect from any modern shooter. The weapons offer not a lot but enough variety and each new mission has it's own twist, making the gameplay overall above average.

Multiplayer:
Yes, but actually no.

TLDR:
If you're bored and looking for a few hours of fun and this is on sale, then it might be a good and worthwhile game for your library. I, however, wouldn't buy it for much more than 5€/§. 6/10
