This game is bad and will stay bad. Don't play it. It deserves to die.

I have played since open beta and every time they take a step forward they take two steps back, I was always hopeful that the game would get better and they "tried" to do it in season 4, but literally every single change they made was horrendous, if this game didn't have characters from other franchises, it would have died a long time ago.

They removed the main currency just so you couldn't buy all the new character at relaunch and you couldn't farm for them as easily, "Compensating" by giving perk currency which is literally worthless, and now they removed the currency AGAIN to replace it by a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ system where you can farm for the characters by playing, but you can't choose which character you unlock, and newer characters aren't available (You have to spent real monkey or wait a few weeks to start making progress to unlock them, and that is if you already have all the other characters)
This means that if you want to get Raven as a new player and don't want to spend 15 bucks, you have to play around 6500 matches.

Battle passes were okay, by playing you could farm currency to buy them and even if they didn't have the best cosmetics they had some cool stuff and gave you back enough currency to buy the next pass and have a few leftovers, the main thing I liked about the battle pass was that none of the cosmetics were exclusive and you could get them on the shop sometime next season, it sucks now.
There are now two battlepasses per season, and they are shorter in rewards and duration, but cost almost the same and give less currency. The previous passes costed 1000 currency and gave you 70 rewards, and now if you get both passes it will cost you 1600 and give you less rewards (mainly currency). Passes also now have exclusive skins that will never come back if you don't get the pass.

Gameplay is buggy as hell and unfun, some characters tend to die easily and are really slow, while some others can just spam projectiles from the other side of the screen while running, others are tanky as hell and attack really fast, and others have some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ almost infinite combos that are really unfun and hard to get out of thanks to the auto-tech.
Sometimes the servers will have a heart attack and the game will stop receiving your inputs but your character will keep moving, killing himself, sometimes the enemy player will just glue itself to you and the only way to fix it is by killing yourself or wait for the timer to run out, and sometimes the game will send you flying to your death because it doesn't know how to manage speed and player input.
Ignoring bugs and glitches, the gameplay may be balanced, but it doesn't matter, half the roster is really unfun to play against thanks to the excess of projectiles and dumb gimmicks like Iron Giant (Whoever gets hit first loses).
It just feels sluggish and all the techniques that they are adding like short-hopping will only make it harder to play and make it feel worse since the issues are at core.

UI is awful, it's buggy as hell and looks really bad compared to the beta one, it also somehow gets worse every patch. getting into a match takes forever, and they decided to make it worse by dividing the end-game screen into 5 screens for some reason, meaning you have to press "Okay" 5 times instead of one now, while getting the same info in a more buggy way since it tends to overlap and dissapear.

Event skins are the only thing I think got better at some point, they used to put a t-shirt with the batman logo or a hat in a character and call it a day, and gave you a fixed skin for a character you may not like or own or just give them at random, time passed and they started to do nice recolors with a few model changes for the simpler ones or just new skins that you could get by spending a few tokens that you got by completing the seasonal events, and the skins honestly were good (sometimes, other times they just googled galaxy shader and replaced all textures with it) nowadays they put exclusive skins in events (which will probably never come back, or do it in a pricey way) meaning that most people will grab one of the exclusive skins instead of the one they really want, and also meaning you can't buy anything else in the event if you grab the exclusive one, before you could buy two or three of the event skins.

While we talk about skins, how can I forget about piss-hat finn and black shirt shaggy?
For batman's 85th anniversary they made some skins that added batman masks and a few color swaps for characters, finn got a promotional image in which he had a whole batman-themed suit with 3D details and the batman mask, he later on got a new promotional image where he was just normal finn with the batman mask, did this mean we will get a cheaper version of the skin? who knows. Finally, the event launched and the skin didn't look AT ALL like in the promos. his clothes were just color swapped to black and his hat color was swapped to piss-yellow. funny thing is they were lazy enough to still use the promo renders that don't look at all like the skin to sell it in game in bundles. (Why the hell did they change the skin if they already had the model with the suit???). For shaggy something similar happend, he got a promo image which was used outside and in the game where he had a batman mask and his t-shirt was yellow, but in-game his t-shirt was black. PFG using all of their brain capacity decided to fix the in-game skin and change his shirt to yellow, BUT THEN THEY CHANGED THE PROMO RENDER COLOR TO BLACK???

People make fun of buggy games saying that the they don't put attention to the gameplay but the game shop always works perfectly, somehow multiversus is the first game I've seen where the game doesn't work but the shop also does not. Don't play this try of a cashgrab.
